Snappy Birthday

Hello and Merry Christmas my scrappy friends!

Here is a LO using a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap, #215.  Great sketch for 3 photos, I used 4 photos by cutting down 2 of them.

I was able to use a variety of paper lines and scraps.

Birthday Girl

Hello again my scrappy friends!

I finished a LO about my grandma's 92nd birthday dinner from 2010.  Funny, her birthday was yesterday and she would have been 102 years old.  Guess she was on my mind.

I did a lot of things on this LO I don't normally do or use.  Gold splatters, tissue paper, glitter chipboard, stenciling.    This LO will be entered into Lasting Memories #527, Mixed Bag Word Play challenge.  Funny, I used so many of the items on the list...I just had to find a heart and ink splatters to fulfill the challenge!  Using the word LIGHTS, my embellishments are Leaf pp, Ink (splatters and journaling), Green, Heart, Torn Paper, and Stickers (chipboard letters and heart).

Let It Snow

Hello my scrappy friends!

I made this LO last week, maybe the week before....I think I'm losing track of time!  Anyway, here is my two pager from 2008 or maybe 2009.  My kids were so small, miss those days...but hubby and I just asked our senior 18 year old if he wanted to build a ginger bread house this weekend and he said YES!!  No to decorating cookies but yes to watching some movies...Die Hard (love it) and Christmas Vacation (don't love it), but I'll take whatever time he's willing to give us.

I love the sketch from Stick It Down this month.  I didn't have as many photos as the sketch had, but I think I did ok with my LO.  On the right page, I used stickers to make a circle in place of the wreath.  I have such a hard time using lots of embellishments on my LO...work in progress!

I'm also entering my LO into Lasting Memories #526 challenge.  Using the mixed bag of items to use,

Doily
Heart
Flower
The color gold
The color green
Washi Tape
Tag
Circle
Chipboard

I went with colors of gold and red, tag, circle, heart and chipboard.  Such a great variety of embellies!

Sketch-N-Scrap: Happy Birthday to You card

Hello my scrappy friends!

Busy, busy time of year!  I hope you all are getting along with some crazy weather, shopping for Christmas and the continued lock downs.  We are at least getting lots of painting completed in the house, playing video games new and old and lots of movie watching!

Birthdays are still happening, albeit a bit different with get togethers and parties, but I am keeping it real with making cards whenever I can!  Here is one for my sister, turning 41 next week and it's in the mail now!

I used some paper scraps from an Echo Park kit, some Nuvo drops in white and an old stamp set for the sentiment.  Boom, done!  Quick and easy.  Check out the Sketch-N-Scrap blog for the current card sketch #183 to enter your card!

1st Birthday

 Hello my scrappy friends!

Today I'm posting a LO I made from my daughter's 1st birthday party.  Sigh....goes so fast.  I used the sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap #212.  Great layers on this one!  I only had 3 pictures printed so that is what I used.  However, I used a larger picture in place of the two smaller ones on the sketch.

And the sketch:

SAFE - softball layout

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy November!

Here is a LO I created of my daughter from 2012 and 2013 playing softball.  I knew I would miss these days even though it was tough sometimes to always be running.

I used a patterned paper from K&Company, all outside related events.  I added some ink splatters, texture paste for the waves and circles and arrow stamps and stars.  A few stickers and some die cuts and its done!  Sometimes I have to scrap quickly before my emotions get a hold of me...but staring at my LO and the pics of my girl...here come the emotions.  They grow up to fast!

I'm entering my LO into these blog challenges:

Rochelle Spears November 2020 Sketch
NOV 2020 SKETCH CHALLENGE

Scrap with Stacy Tic-Tac-Toe challenge - I used the middle column: ink splatters-arrow-tag.

Bitten by the Bug 2 - Sports challenge.  I used my Cricut cartridge Boys Will Be Boys for the square tag with softball and bat.

I Believe Christmas Card

 Hello my scrappy friends!

Today I made a card using a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap blog, World Making card Day #3.  It took me a while to figure out papers and sizes, not sure why since it's a pretty straight forward sketch!  I was able to use lots of scraps from a paper pad that is years old!

The stamped sentiment is from SU! Christmas Means More set...wonderful movie quotes in this one!!

Halloween Card

Hello my scrappy friends!  My favorite season is autumn.  I love the cool air, the changing leaf colors, the smell of neighbor's fireplaces.  And Halloween is coming up!  I love seeing all of the neighborhood kids dress up, trick or treating and being excited to get some candy and being out when it's dark!

Here is a card I made for my niece for Halloween, using the sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap #179.  A great and simple sketch to use some fun papers.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.  This challenges is open until the end of the month...go check it out!

Guy Stuff

Hello my scrappy friends!  A quick post for a quickly made LO!  I hardly did anything for this one...a few swipes of an ink pad, glued some papers and project life cards together, added the photos and stickers and done!

I'm using the sketch from Sketches In Thyme #439.  We live in NJ so we don't pump our own gas!  When on vacation, we need to get out of the car and fend for ourselves.  Our kids always loved to help us when we pulled into the gas station.  It's a good skill to know when out of our state!

You have until the end of the month to create your LO and enter!

School Spirit Week

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here is a two pager I just finished using 6x6 pps.  I have a stack of papers, no idea where they came from, but they were in a nice neat bundle so I fanned through them and cut a few!

It was School Spirit Week for my kids who where in the same school this year.  My son (who will get this LO in his album) was in 2nd grade, my daughter in 1st grade.  School Spirit, crazy sock, hat day and dress up day.  He did not want to participate in crazy hair day, most boys didn't this year.  He has always like his "boy" hair cut till recently.  Having recently turned 18, driving (my car), working and having a girlfriend (yikes!), he felt as a senior in high school he needs long hair.  So different!  Sigh....

I love being able to use so many pps from my stash as well as school related stickers.  I fussy cut the ABC and 123...just what this LO needed!

I'll be entering this into Scrap Our Stash challenge, Hello October.  They've given us a lovely color palette mood board to create our LOs.

I will also be adding this LO to Festive Friday challenge #0069.  From the list of inspiration, I've used clean and simple, stripes (pps) and circles (pp).

Sending Love Your Way

Hello my scrappy friends!  One of my sister's wedding anniversary is in November.  I know I'm early making a card for her and my BIL but since I had time today, I just made it!  I tried a little something different, inspired by jazzy paper designs card.  The bingo challenge was posted on Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge blog.

I loved using some inks, smooching them into the card and using a paintbrush to spread it around a bit.  I used STAMPlorations stamps, Framed Dogwood, for the large flower stamp.  It's so very pretty!

I will be entering my card into the STAMPlorations blog challenge for October 2020, stamps and autumn colors.  I will also be entering my card into the TTTC083 challenge where I used the right most column: red-fall-green.  The green is on the outside of the front card layer.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  Have a lovely Friday ladies!!

No Smelly Feet allowed!

LOL, hello my scrappy friends!  I hope this title made you laugh or at least smile!  It was so funny when it became the theme of my son's birthday party.  Apparently my nephew was in a "no sock" phase and forgot no shoes are worn in the house, so bare foot he went.  With so many people visiting that day for the party, my niece had to sit on the floor...right next to her brother's feet!

I was able to use some rather old supplies...papers, sticker letters, embellishments.  Everything on this page, other then the ink splatters are at least five years old, some are ten years old!

I'll be entering this LO into Scrap with Stacy September Tic-Tac-Toe challenge.  I used the middle column--arrow, word stickers, washi tape.

I'll also be entering this into Rochelle Spears Sketch Challenge

Bullets in the Gun

Hello once again my scrappy friends!  Since most house work is done and my son has cooked dinner for the past two nights (once with his girl friend and once on his own), we have plenty of left overs so a scrapping I have gone!

I loved the sketch at Sketches In Thyme this week, #436.

I scrapped a picture of my son from 2013 at a local Sportsman Club.  Each summer they host an outdoor day, introducing the kids to shooting guns and rifles, fishing, speed boat rides, bow and arrow shooting.  It's always such a fun day.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  Be sure to get your LO uploaded to Sketches In Thyme by the end of this month for a chance to win some scrappy goodies!

Chocolate Birthday

Hello my scrappy friends!  Another birthday card for you today.  My sister's birthday is later this week and she should have her card already!  I used the wonderful sketch from Stick It Down for my card.  My sister does love chocolate but doesn't eat it too often so I thought this was the next best thing.

50th Anniversary card

Hello my scrappy friends!  My aunt and uncle recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary!!  Of course, I had to make them a card.

I used a paper from DCWV In Stitches 6x6 stack from 2016.  I thought the stitched flower was perfect for my new SU! Posted For You stamp f birds and branches.  I also used the punch that goes along with the stamp set to make a bundle.

I will be adding my card into the Shopping Our Stash #428 Color Challenge  using the colors dark and light greens, white and a touch of mustard in the pp.  I will also join the Festive Friday #FF00067 challenge using the following items: leaves, green, brown, tree and stitching.

Thanks for stopping by to comment!  Check out these challenges as you still have time to enter your creations!!

Have a wonderful day,

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here is a layout I made for two August Challenges!

I used Scrap Our Stash Sketch Challenge for the sketch.

I also used Scrappy Friends Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge for my embellishments.

For Scrap Our Stash, I used stripped paper (the background paper) and ink splatters on my layout.  For the Scrappy Friends, I used the bottom row - banner, stripes, enamel dots.

Have a lovely day,

Hello again my scrappy friends!  I've been a little busy scrapping this week with Paper Issues on Facebook!  So many challenges, so much fun.  I created this LO for one of the sketch challenges and as I was looking for things to create in my stash, I came across Festive Friday Challenge #FF00066.  Perfect items to use for my layout!!

From this list, I used bright colors, heart (I used so many made from my Cricut), flowers, uplifting sentiment, and sparkle.

Adventures

Hello my scrappy friends!  My oldest turned 18 yesterday...18 years old!!  How?  Why?  HOW???  So fast!  At least I still have pictures of him in the past that I can scrap...you know, when he smiled for the camera without me having to ask a few times, when he wasn't so in a rush to run out to see friends, when he didn't need to work, when I saw him in the early mornings not close to noon!  My baby isn't such a baby anymore.  One more year of high school at least so I can see him everyday!!

OK, sorry about that!  Yesterday was hard, today is better.

Here is my layout from a vacation in 2013 when some family friends joined us for two day in the Poconos.

I was inspired by two places...Scrap Our Stash and YouTube's Mixed Media Frenzy from 8/7/2020.  I used the sketch from Mixed Media Frenzy...it's so different from anything I usually make and I just loved it!   Scrap Our Stash "Dog Days of Summer challenge was perfect for my summer vacation pictures.  You have to use either a sun embellishment or sun patterned paper.  I made my own pp for the photo mats using yellow paper and a sun stamp. It's so hard to see in this post but it's there, I promise!!  I love making my own pp when ever I can!
