Stick It Down - Turn Up the Heat

Hello my scrappy friends!!!!  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful season with family, friends and hopefully not too much work!!

Today I'm entering my double page LO into Stick It Down's double page sketch challenge for this month.  You have just one more day to enter!  As I'm looking at the sketch and my page, apparently I totally forgot to add pp to the second page!  Opps!  Guess that's what happens when you create a page over a few days during the Christmas holiday!  In any event, I love the way this two pager turned out.  Anytime I can get pictures of my daughter dancing and being funny is a great day!

Thanks for commenting!  Happy New Year!  I hope and pray for a wonderful 2020 for all!

Christmas stamp = Christmas card

Merry Christmas my scrappy friends!!  Hope all of you are getting into the spirit and all of your shopping is completed!!  I've had all of my gifts ordered and bought two weeks ago...still need to wrap everything!

I was able to squeeze in some time to create cards for co-workers.  Here is one of them using the Stick It Down card sketch.

Festive Friday!

Hello my scrappy friends!!

Here is a card I made for my sister and brother-in-law's anniversary.  It'll be 12 years of wedded bliss for them...with two girls!

Festive Friday blog challenge was my muse this week!

My three items from the inspiration list include:  button, scraps and the color green!  Not that these colors were even close to their wedding colors (closer to my other sister's colors, of course!), but I'm sure they will like it anyway!!

This challenge is open until Monday, November 2019, 8pm.  You have plenty of time to upload your creation!

Is It Dinner Yet?

Hello my scrappy friends!

Quick post today!  Pictures of our daughter from a few years ago during Youth Outdoor Day, practicing her rifle shooting.  She was pretty good at it, actually very good, I wish I would have gotten her into some type of shooting activity.  Who knows....Olympics or college scholarships may have been in her future but everything was kinda far away to pursue it.  Although now, I wish I would have!
Anyway, my LO!  Lots of layers on this one.

This LO will be entered into Lasting Memories challenge #468 - Mixed Bag Word challenge.  Using the word "CRISP", use an item  that begins with each letter.  I've used Chipboard, Red, Ink, Stars, Patterned papers.
This challenge is open until November 2nd so you have some time to create!!

I am also entering my LO into Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper Challenge.  The challenge...use patterned papers!  I love my pps and use them often and have quite a few on this page!

My Dad's Birthday

Hello my scrappy friends!

I made a quick card for my dad for his 71st birthday which is this Saturday.  It went in the mail today since the Nuvo drops weren't dry enough for mailing yesterday!  I'm pretty sure he'll get it by Saturday, maybe even Friday.

Stick It Down blog  inspired me with their card sketch, which can be found on the linked page along with the one page and double page layout sketches.

Such a great CAS card that I usually don't make but I'm liking the simplicity of my card!  I used SU! inks in different shades of blue, papers from my stash that have been there forever!! and Nuvo drops.

You have until the end of this month to enter your card at Stick It Down!!
Stick it Down

Check out STAMPlorations as well this month for their CAS card challenge! The color orange is the optional twist...perhaps I'll make another card for this later this month.

4th of July Party

Hello once again!  This LO is the second page of a double from a 4th party several years ago.  Once again, I need to find the date, but it's probably 8 years old.  That toddler is my niece who just turned 10 years old.  I used several scraps and mixed media along with a wooden butterfly embellishment.

This LO will be entered into the Sketches In Thyme challenge # 388.  The sketch definitely inspired me but I changed it a bit...as I tend to do!

Sixteen

Hello my scrappy friends!  Another LO I created a few weekends ago at a scrap retreat.  This is my son, last year, during his family birthday party.  Some good pictures of him, me and dad.  that background paper was a little intimidating for me but I ran with it and I LOVE it!!!  Some strips of pps,  stickers and Nuvo drops and it was completed!

This LO will be entered into the Sketches In Thyme challenge #389.

Hello Winter

Hello again my scrappy friends!  Another LO I made during a scrappy weekend retreat a few weeks ago.  Used up so many scraps for this one but my pile of scraps never seems to lessen!!

I was inspired by the Bitten by the Bug 2 blog challenge: Grandparents.  that baby is my now 17 year old son with his grandma (my mom) and his aunt (my sister).  They were visiting my grandmother (his great-grandmother), those are her hands by my son sitting in the chair.  Of course grandma didn't have a high chair, but she did have some pieces of a rubber tube that apparently worked just as well when he was eating!!  He enjoyed something new and was fed without incident!!

Before the Party - Stick It Down

Hello again my scrappy friends!    Here is a LO I created using the fabulous sketch from Stick It Down.  It's a great two pager with several photo spots and the opportunity to use lots of pps and scraps.  I added some mixed media, word stickers and some wooden stickers that I've had for years!!

Girly birthday card

Hello my scrappy friends!  Quick post since I'll have a few other others today.

This card was made for my son's friend since there was a birthday 2 hours away from our house on Friday night.  Glad it was close enough to my parent's house so my daughter and I had a place to hang for a few hours!

I used several scraps, some flowers that were laying on my desk and clear Nuvo drops to get this card made.

I'm entering this card into Stick It Down card challenge sketch challenge this month.

I'm also entering this into Shopping Our Stash challenge, #405 - Dream the Empossible Dream - using embossing!!  I dry embossed the strip on the left side with the circles.

Just Laughin'

Hello my scrappy friends!  So...my son turned 17 in August and received his driver's license 3 days ago!!!  Today he took off in dad's car to work...ALL BY HIMSELF!!!!  I got some pictures then I went to the computer to sign up for COLLEGE tours for him!  I'm done!  Too much too soon!  OK, really not soon since he is 17 but a lot for just a few days!

To relive some baby days, here is a LO of said son just a few months old!  Seems like a life time ago...I need to hugs my parents a lot more next time I see them!

I used the sketch from Sketches In Thyme, #387.

14th birthday "party"

Hello my scrappy friends!!  Happy Back to School Week!  My kids went back today, 10th and 11th grades.  They should be home pretty soon and I'm eager to hear about all that happened!

Here is a LO I just completed for my son, the current 11th grader, where his sister (the 10th grader!) and their friend threw a little surprise birthday party for him...snack and confetti!  The girls made microwave popcorn, found some gummy bears in the pantry and tore up colored paper for the confetti!  Pretty smart and quick thinking on their party!  It was a sweet gesture and he loved the little surprise!

I used various supplies from my stash including papers from Echo Park Happy Birthday collection, my Cricut for the "14" and stickers from my stash...very old stickers btw!

I'll be entering my LO into these challenges...check them out!

September Sketch Challenge & Scrappy Friend Challenge: Check out the LO sketch and photo inspiration challenges on their pages to join!!  I love the sketch...so easy to use!  The photo inspiration helped me with color choices...some blues and browns and oranges.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you get creative TODAY!!

VBS Page 2

Hello my scrappy friends!  I was able to create a LO this afternoon, page two of my VBS spread. This was our first VBS and we are still participating in them every year since, just at a different church, and now my kids are counselors along with me!  This spread is for my son, I've included pictures of both kids but Declan is featured on two of them a bit more.  I've included the bible verses that they memorized during the week.  These pics tell me that they did indeed  memorize them...the reward was the t-shirt everyone is wearing!!
I added the palm tree and pirate.....Moses was leading God's people through the desert, were there palm trees and pirates?  Perhaps not, but the sand and the "in your face" attitude of pirates led me to what perhaps the Israelites and Moses were feeling.  In your face Pharaoh, we're outta here!!  LOL

I'm entering my LO into the following challenges:

Sketch ~N~ ScrapSketch-N-Scrap #182 sketch challenge - I love a multi-photo sketch!

Use Your StuffUse Your Stuff #371 - mood board - I love the variety of colors so used that forum for my LO.

"Lasting Memories" Scrapbook Layout ChallengesLasting Memories #460 - Palms - I cut out some palms from an Echo Park kit

VBS 2010

Hello my scrappy friends!

Here is a quick layout I created using the Stick It Down single page sketch and the theme of summer activity from Use Your Stuff.   Both were perfect for my pictures and some inking in the background!
This Vacation Bible School was our very first one, the kids participated in bible lessons and some of the moms were active in their own bible study!  It was a wonderful week for both me and the kids!

You still have time to enter the Stick It Down challenge, ends 8/31.  Use Your stuff challenge ends tonight, 8/17, so technically, you can still participate!!

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here are some more pics of my kids at the lake!  We've got lots since it's what we do most summers.  This year no so much since all they want to do is sleep!  Teenagers!!

I was able to use so many scraps..it's a wonderful feeling, isn't it, to use what we have??  I'll be entering my LO into these challenges:

Best Friends

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy Sunday, hope it's been a good weekend for you!

Finally finished a layout of my kids playing in the lake by my aunt's house.  I still need to add journaling but I have to find the date of the pictures first!  I though for sure I had the date noted somewhere.

I used the sketch challenge from the beginning of July at Let's Get Sketchy.  It's a great sketch where you can use some scraps...always love that!

Our Tree

Hello my scrappy friends!  Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer, vacations, family time..and not much traffic!!  Since my kids were cleaning their rooms and playing video games, I decided to create a page!!  It's been a while and felt pretty good!

This picture is of our Christmas tree in 2014, hence the title, Our Tree.  Page two comes tomorrow, I hope.  I'm entering this layout into the Sketches In Thyme's July 1st challenge.  I love this sketch even though I didn't use all of the layers.  I thoroughly enjoyed using some mixed media in the background and some pretty old stash!

Take a look at Sketches In Thyme to see the creations of others!  You have till the end of the month to create your layout!!

to the Promised Land

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy weekend!!

It's taken me to long to create this layout, it just wasn't coming together.  I didn't add as much as I though and it's taken a turn from the sketch I used, but it's completed!  I dipped into several kits and various supplies, using several scraps.

This LO was inspired by this month's Scrap Our Stash Pick Your Side Sketch Challenge.  I've chosen the left side, using polka dot patterned paper scraps and stamped numbers under the photos on the right side.  Five numbers for the five days we attended vacation bible school.

Thanks for visiting and commenting!!  You have another day to complete this challenge!

GOAL! - Sketches In Thyme

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy Summer!

I made this LO super quick in between food shopping, laundry, and cleaning up the kitchen!  Off to take my son to a end of school year party in just a bit!

Speaking of son, here is a LO of him and dad playing some Air Hockey the day after his 11th birthday party. Years of fun playing on this thing, I think we need to take it back out, hoping it's not too damaged from a small water leak!

Sketches In Thyme sketch #377 inspired this LO, perfect with all of the background circles! I wrote my journaling all around the perimeter of the LO, only added a few things to the LO since the pp is pretty busy.
You have a few more days to enter this challenge, go for it!

Just Like Dad - NSD 2019 S-N-S challenge

Hello my scrappy friends!  I hope you all take the time to remember those who died for our freedom during this Memorial Day holiday.  Politics aside, I'm proud to be an American and so happy I live here.

OK, onto my layout for NSD.  I loved the sketch Sketch-N-Scrap had for this challenge!!  Our son is sooooo similar to his dad in so many ways.  The top picture is just one instance...sitting the same exact way on the couch...and wearing the same clothes and colors!  This type of thing happens so often, it's pretty funny!

Here is the sketch and link to the challenge...few more days to enter!

Sketch-N-Scrap #145

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy Mother's Day to all mom's out there!!  Today, I am scrapping most of the day...no house chores for me.  I'm actually listening to my teens argue and laugh about baking chocolate chip cookies.  I just hope they are delicious!

This is the sketch I used to make my card, Sketch-N-Scrap #145.  Since my die cut on the bottom was so big, the pennants looked ridiculous so I didn't include them.

My card for a co-worker who had a rough argument with another co-worker in front of so many others.  This lady is such a wonderfully nice person and I felt so bad for her.  I gave her this card the day after the arguments, with tears in her eyes, she gave me the biggest hug in front of all of the students...we are lunch aides for 1st and 2nd graders.

Stuff My Stocking!

Hello my scrappy friends! I sure hope all of you are feeling well....everyone I know, including me, have been sick!  A variety of illnesses, but illnesses nonetheless, always take a toll on us!  I'm getting better each day this week after missing two days of work!

This LO I created two weeks ago when I was feeling pretty healthy!  This is the second page of a two page LO.  My son decorating the railing for Christmas in 2014.  Seems so long ago!  I used  a bunch of things from my stash, that never seems to be reduced!  Lots of pps and die cuts from a swap years (I mean years!!) ago.

I'm entering this LO into Sketch-N-Scrap  #172 sketch challenge.    You still have till the end of the month to entering your LO!

Here is my two page LO:

Perfect Presents

Hello my scrappy friends!  I attended a day crop last weekend but only just put the final touches on some of the LOs I made.  One of them is below, taking inspiration from Scrap Our Stash blog, March Saturday Cartoon Inspired Stash Challenge.

The challenge is to use the given sketch, which I used pretty closely, to use green embellishments and to be inspired by the Snoopy cartoon.  I have green in the patterned papers and green enamel dots.  Snoopy always reminds me of being a kid, so scrapping these pictures of my daughter was a no brainer!
This challenge ends on march 29th so you have plenty of time to enter!

Have a great day and thanks for commenting~
