Oh Boy

Hello my scrappy friends!  It was a busy week doing things with the kids and having friends come to play.  This layout took me all week but that's ok....at least I'm home to spend summer days with my kids!  What better way to take pictures of them to scrap in the years to come?!?

This layout is of my son's 2nd birthday party, just before it started.  He is going to be 14 in less then two weeks.  Holy crap, how did that happen?  I've used Cricut Artbooking for the hexagons and cut up some paper for the title, using the Q as an O.  Hope it's not too obvious!  Distressing in the form of spray inks and inks pad rubbed on the corrugated cardboard.  Stamps from CTMH and Autumn Leaves were used.

This LO will be entered into the following blog challenges:

Sketches In Time - Sketch #210 - The first page of my LO used this sketch.  It is a great sketch that I'm sure I'll use in the future.
Sketches In Thyme

PaperCrafter's Corner - Challenge #154 - So many options to choose from in the inspiration piece!  I used blue and mustard colors, a young boy, the date in my journaling.  The image of the boy over the suitcase is so similar to that of my son I just had to scrap it!

Shopping Our Stash - #262 - A Stitch in Time - I used some faux stitching (little Xs) around a bit of my LO.

Glimpses of a Good Life - Baptism

Hello my scrappy friends!  A semi slow weekend for us which is fine since it's so darn hot out!  Upper 90's this weekend, praying the air conditioner doesn't decide to take a break!  I grilled, and cooked when we ran out of propane, lots of chicken a few days ago in preparation for the heat!  Of course now, though, no one wants chicken!  Cereal, however, is a great dinner in my book!

Not having to cook gave me time to watch tv with my family and scrap a page!  This page is of my niece, who is also my Goddaughter, when she was baptized three years ago.  No Cricut was used for this LO which doesn't happen too often but I was able to use some paper as my title, Glimpses of a Good Life.  Most of the papers used were from the Modern Meadow Stack from DCWV.

I'll be submitting into the following challenges:

Scrap Our Stash - Book Inspired - I was inspired by the circles and the various colors.  My photo background paper has various swirls and circles on it, multiple pps with many colors.  The title of the book by Dr. Suess, "Oh the Place You'll Go" is such an inspiration for this little girl's life long relationship with God.

Let's Get Sketchy - Week 2 - I love the sketch for this challenge!  I twisted several things around to fit my photos and papers.

Stuck?! Sketches - July 15 - I love this sketch too!  Again, I twisted things around to work for me using larger photos and embellies.  I let the swirls in the background paper take the place of the large circle in the sketch.

Enjoy your Sunday!!

Orange-y Anniversary Card

Hello again my scrappy friends!  My brother-in-laws parents are celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary.  How fantastic is that!?!  We see them a few times each year at my sister and BIL's house for holidays.  They always give my children presents for birthdays and Christmas...the least I can do is remember to send them an anniversary card!
I used all STAMPlorations products for this card - Mixed Media Grunge and Happy - and stencils - Happy Flowers

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

STAMPlorations - July CAS card - optional color: orange

Made in America

Hello my scrappy friends!  I sure hope your summer is going well!  Ours is here, we haven't done too much.  My kids are loving all day video gaming but it's getting old...for me at least.  Today, we'll have to do something else.  Perhaps summer school work, which I think is so unfair, since it costs a few grades so I think an hour each day is fair.  Maybe we'll take out a board game too!

Onto my layout....Made in America...from 2011.  There is no journaling since I just found out the date so I'll add some later on today.  I used patterned paper from a stack a few years ago from We R Memory Keepers called Yankee Doodles...great red, white and blues!

The layout will be entered into these following challenges:

Off the Rails Scrapbooking: July mood board - I used the Rustic and Soft mood board.
Off the Rails Scrapbooking

Lasting Memories - #300, marbles - My half circles at the bottom of the LO represent the marbles.

Scrap Our Stash: July book inspired -  I used the 5 patterned papers and circle embellishments, including the round pool toys my kids are using!
