June Guest Designer at Sketches4All

I posted my challenge a little early for tomorrow's guest designer challenge at Sketch4All blog.  Its a simple challenge really...

My inspiration for this challenge is from America's flag day which is June 14th.  I'm a very patriotic kinda gal so you must use at least one FLAG somewhere on your layout using this sketch from from Nanne at Stuck On U Sketches.   Use a flag, not a banner...your country's flag, your state flag, a flag at en event.  A photo of a flag is allowed if you don't have a die cut, stamp or paper.  The 2nd ingredient is hand written journaling.

In The Country

Hello my friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and took some time to remember those fallen soldiers who helped maintain our freedoms.

I didn't do too much this weekend except for help my husband build a 10x12 gazebo on our deck and grill some hotdogs and burgers!  I did a little scrapping too ;)

Here is my most recent layout called "In The Country".  I used my Cricut for the title, Country Life cart, and the arrows, Graphically Speaking.  I also used my Fiskars rope border punch for the edges.  Various buttons and bling rhinestones.

I entered this layout in the following blog challenges:

Spring Training!

Here is a LO I made recently for a few challenges.  The stars and circles are cut from the Cricut cartridge George and Basic Shapes...always a good place to start for shapes!  The title is cut from Gyspy font ( I welded the letters) and Don Juan, my newest little splurge!

The challenges I entered are found on the Sketches4All (for using shapes) and True XOXO Scrapbooking (for using chipboard) blogs.

Thanks so much for visiting~

Frightful Fun

Here is a LO I made during this past weekend using a sketch from Sketch N Scrap blog.  It was their very first sketch from over a year ago and was brought out during the birthday bash celebration this month!  If you submit a LO for this challenge you could win a spot as the July layout guest designer!  This is the sketch, I just love it!

This is my submission, my kids in 2010 having a Frightful Fun in a haunted pumpkin patch!  I also used this LO for a challenge on Sketches4All blog, Technique Tuesday: Borders.

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day ladies!  Yesterday was the family party, for my daughter, Keira's 9th birthday.  It was a success with lots of food, card games, presents, and laughs!  I cleaned most of the kitchen and family room after the last guest left about 10:30pm.  I didn't want the kids to have extra work today!  They've already made me breakfast, with the help of their dad and will do the laundry, sweep and vacuum.  I will be scrapping while the house work is being completed!  I'm very blessed to have such a helpful family :)

I hope your Mother's Day is as relaxing, happy and scrappy as can be!

Thanks for visiting~

Birthday, Just Because and Mother's Day cards

I'm so excited to to make my first post with some cards I've made for a few different challenges!  I'll start with my daughter, Keira's, 9th birthday card.  If you've met her, it's no secret that she loves cats, so that's where my inspiration started.  I used the Cricut carts Create A Critter for the cat and Slumber Party for the guitar.  The grass was in my stash but it was probably cut using Plantin Schoolbook.

This card will be entered into these challenges:
                                                      Sketches4All
Pumpkin Spice: NSD Challenge #1 Animals

This next card is for my mom for Mother's Day.  I hand cut the pennants, the stamped sentiment is from Fiskars All Around stamps, and the patterned paper is Echo Park Sweet Day.

This card will be entered into these challenges:

And for my last card, for my sister as she goes back to work after having her second child.  I hand cut the circles and the pennant.  The patterned papers are from my stash so I don't remember the brand.  That orangy paper started out bright yellow!  I used a sponge to ink it using a Memento ink pad called Morocco.  I love the color it turned out!

This card will be entered into this challenge:

That's all for today!  Thanks for checking out my cards!  Time to get ready for the family birthday party tomorrow for Keira!  The kids are cleaning already :)

Many Blessings~

WELCOME!

I always said I would never create a blog.  No time, no one wants to see my layouts and cards, I don't create enough to post on a blog, blah, blah blah!  All of this is still true but I've been entering several challenges recently on other blogs and forums.  I need a place to "store" my creations so I can post them in these challenges.  So, I've jumped in like so many others to create my place in the cyber-world!  Here we go~
