No Place I'd Rather Be

Hello my Scrappy Friends!  I hope everyone has recovered from daylight savings time!  Here at home, we all seem to be doing ok which I am quite thankful for!

Since we have off this week from school, teacher's conventions, I got my scrap on...even with several kids playing in the house all day!

Lets Get Sketchy has a fantastic sketch for the beginning of the month that peeked my interest so I went hunting for photos and papers!

I turned the the photos and moved the banners but I think it's pretty clear where I got my inspiration!
I used the Gypsy Font from Cricut for the title, patterned paper from Scenic Route and clock stencil from The Crafter's Workshop 12x12 sheet.  Perfect for my son's hours of sitting writing stories!

Thanks for visiting~

Let Sleeping Dogs Lie

Good morning my scrappy friends!  Hope you had a great weekend.  Chilly here in NJ but I love it!  My kids, not so much!  They weren't happy that I had the windows open before they went to school but it's so invigorating, this fresh cold air!

Yesterday in between a boy scout event, cooking dinner and laundry, I found some time to make a LO of my son.  I don't love this LO but  they all can't be masterpieces, now can they?  I'm sure I'll tweek it a little bit this afternoon once I get home from work.  But for now, here it is:

I made this for the Frosted Designs blog using fall colors, ink and bling.  The prize for this month's winner is....

We would also like to welcome back Scrapmatts as this challenge's sponsor!!!!
Scrapmatts is offering up a prize pack of chipboard valued at over $30.00!!!!

Go to the Frosted Designs blog to check it out for yourself.  Good luck!

Summer photo using Fall colors

Good morning my scrappy friends!  Slept in again and now will miss church, boo hoo :(  Guess we'll just take out our bibles this afternoon for some reading...in between the mounds of laundry that needs to be washed!  But before any chores, lets see a scrapping page!

I made this LO featuring my daughter from 2010 during a 4th of July party at my sisters house.  Her dad, my husband, was traveling for work and I tried to plan so many things so we wouldn't miss him so much.  It worked for the most part!

I was inspired by Colorful Creations October 1st challenge using a mood board and sketch.

I also used the color board from Scrap Much? for this month...very similar colors to Colorful Creations.....

Here is my submission using the various fall colors even though the photos are from the summer. I love using the "wrong" seasonal colors for my layouts!  The colors worked with the toys, carpet, and fire place stones.

Lastly, I'm submitting my layout into the Pumpkin Spice #87 challenge - using orange and Child's Play Challenge Jack in the Box challenge.  The toy reminds me of the toys my daughter is playing with along with with bright colors.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Scrappy Weekend!

Hello my scrappy friends!  I have several layouts for challenges I completed during this past weekend at my once per year scrappy weekend retreat!  So without further comments, here we go....thanks for looking and commenting!

The Paper Secrets girls posted a great sketch for the second challenge for this month.  Along  with the sketch, you needed to use ingredients beginning with A-P-P-L-E.

 The ingredients I used were arrow-patterned papers-pennants-letters & layers-embellies.

My Scraps & More has a wonderful sketch this month, #91.      Here is my submission!

This month XoXo Scrapbooking challenge is to lift this layout.  I lifted the sketch, by Tess Pretty, for the most part with one photo, layers, ink and a pennant.
Child's Play is another great website for challenges.  This month we are working with The Cat in the Hat for our challenge.  I lifted the colors of the book's cover.

Quick card

Happy Friday and Happy Labor Day Weekend!

I have a quick post this morning.  I made a card for my niece's 5th birthday this weekend.  Hoping we can make it to the party since I've been sick, hubby isn't feeling well, and our daughter has the sniffles!  Gotta love end of summer colds!  Praying our son doesn't get sick too!  School starts in 6 days!

Here is my quick card using scraps from my stash, sketch by Paper Players -- my first time entering into one of their challenges!

Have a fantastic weekend, thanks for stopping by!

End of 5th Grade

Ahhh, the summer is closing in on us.  I'm excited for the kids to get back into school and for me to start working again!  I'll miss our trips to the lake and having friends to our house, but I crave the routine of non-summer living!

With the start of school, perhaps I'll find more time to scrap!  But till then, I have made a quick layout for a few challenges!

That's my son in the light blue shirt with black hair in the back!  He just turned 12!  Went by so fast!  Anyway, this was his last day of 5th grade (picture and mat and washi tape given to me by his teacher!) and the school where he has learned for the past three years.  Next week he begins 6th grade...in a school that just houses that grade!  It was the original school for kindergarten to 12th grade before the houses went up like crazy around here!

I used DCWV papers, Cricut Mickey Font cartridge and perfect pearls.  The bingo card is stamped using Jillibean Soup sold by Unity Stamp.

> Lasting Memories Challenge: Going Back to School using numbers/alphas

That's all for now folks!  Enjoy your Monday afternoon~

Flying By....

Good morning my scrappy friends!  My son's 12th birthday is tomorrow, YIKES!  That went by too fast!  I made a card for him but I think this is the last year I can make this kind of card...perhaps a little juvenile.  We'll see next year....

Moving on, to keep my tears away about him growing up so fast, I've entered this card into a few challenges.

Stamplorations Blog Bi-Weekly sketch challenge #17
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge, #222 But Out
Scrapbook.com challenge: Stamping and Cricut

Awesome Summer Vacation

Good morning, or rather afternoon, my scrappy friends!  This morning has rushed past me doing 100 mph!  The kids and I are going to our "summer vacation home", aka, my aunt's house.  We are supposed to be leaving in one hour, forty minutes.  Both kids still need to pack their clothes for the week, shower, cleanup the lunch dishes and fold the towels...we'll need a few for the lake.  I have to get my clothes into a suit case, run to the library, pack some food and pay bills before we leave.  Here's hoping we get it all completed!

Anyway, onto my LO!  I found a new blog, new to me at least, called 123 Challenge Blog and this month I love the challenge!  The challenge is to use:

Camping In...a few years ago!

Happy weekend my scrappy friends!  I had some time during the week to get this 2 page LO stared and completed it this morning.  I just have to find the date the pictures were taken to add to my little journal stamp!  It was from a few years ago...at least 4!  Wow, time flies!

I used papers from the Pink Lemonade collection kit by Lawn Fawn and EK Success Baby Collection "snakes and snails".  Both collections are a few years old.

This LO is being submitted in the following challenges:
Scrapbook.com challenges ~ Cricut; Stamping; Pagemaps #1 and #3 sketches; 4 Categories
TurtleSoup forum ~ birthday bash challenge #1 using my birth date for ingredients
Soul Scrappers ~ UUS6 challenge, using at least 5 flowers
* Counterfeit Kit Challenge, July #2: Combining Techniques using fussy cutting, misting, stamping and distressing.

Last minute challenges!

Good afternoon my scrappy friends!  Lazy weekend here, which is perfectly fine with me!  Both of our kids are home now...our son was on a week long boy scout camping trip (no phones allowed) and our daughter was with my sister then my aunt.  Last week was quite quiet...I enjoyed it but I did miss them tremendously!

Everyday is an Adventure

I've entered a few challenges in the past week or so for cards and layouts.  First up is a card sketch #28 from Sketch~N~Scrap blog.  I made this for my daughter while she was on her mini-vacation.  I used CTMH stamps and scrap paper from K&Company.

My next project is a layout I created featuring my daughter from 2011.  We had just gotten new carpeting and she was thrilled to rock on her horse with no furniture in the room!  I used papers from  DCWV for the title and Heidi Grace for all of the other papers.  I've entered this into the Back Porch Memories June challenge from Alissa's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

STAMPlorations cards

Good afternoon my scrappy friends!  A quick post since I'm just taking a little break from helping my kids pack for their trips next week.  Here are two cards made for a birthday and a teacher end of the year card.  Bother are being entered into the STAMPlorations blog challenges for this month of June.

This first card was made for one of my son's friends birthday earlier this month.  This is being submitted for Stamps & Borders challenge.

This second card is being submitted for the Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge, #14.  The card was  given to the gifted and talented reading teacher for both of my kids!  I used stamps from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave comments!  I love reading them!
Happy Weekend!

School's OUT for Summer!!!

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy household over here since today was finally the last day of school!  This is the first year my kids didn't cry!  Guess they are getting older...which makes me want to cry!

During the past few days, two days really, I made a slew of cards for the teachers.  My daughter made a card for the bus driver since I didn't have anything left in me last night to create any more...besides I don't like her!  She yelled so often at the kids, almost every day!  I'm a yeller, but not everyday!

Here are some of my cards!  Keep in mind, my kids drew sketches of the cards, along with colors, they wanted me to make!

This first card is for one of my daughter two teachers.  I used scraps from my stash for the tan strips, the worm and apple.  The face on the apple is from Peachy Keen.  Even though this card was made just last night, I completely forget which Cricut cartridges I used for the apple and worm!
This card will be entered into the Red Carpet Studios challenge #72 using ribbon.  It will also be entered into the StuckOnUSketeches challenge, Any Animal.  My animal is of course the worm!

This next card is for my daughter's other teacher.  The patterned paper is from Authentique, the Carefree collection.  The stamps are from CTMH, a stamp of the month from a little while ago, A Chocolate Affair.  Since my daughter and I went Girl Scout camping at Hershey Park earlier this month, we bought this teacher a Hershey mug with some kisses , so this stamp set was just perfect!
This card is being submitted into the Turtle Soup Forum, Friday Inspiration.  A card was posted that I used as a scraplift for my card since I loved the original so much!

The original:
Image

My lifted card:

This third card was made for a teacher in my son's class who takes some kids out who need extra help with their studies.  Even though my son doesn't need her help, he wanted to give her a card since she was in the classroom so often and she encouraged him with his own studies often.
I used a challenge once again from Turtle Soup Forum, Thursday Scraplift.  I used CTMH stamps, Just for You (B1398) with Tim Holtz distressed stamps.

The original:
Black, White and a Shot of Red
And this is my card:

Another card I made was for my son's homeroom and one of his classroom teachers.  She was one of the best teachers he has ever had.  She made learning fun so he learned so much!
This card is being submitted for Sketches4All June Stash Challenge.  It's a bingo themed challenge this month where I used the middle column, flowers-alphas-handjournaling (which is inside and I forgot to photograph!).  I used the Cricut Groovy Times cartridge, first time I ever used it and I LOVE it!

That's all for now my friends!  I have other cards but now I have a house full of kids...welcome to summer vacation! LOL

Thanks for stopping by,
Jennifer

Freshly Made Sketches card

Well hello and good morning my scrappy friends!  I haven't post in more then one month...but I haven't really been creating much during that month either!  Lots going on as I'm sure the same is true with you.  This is the last week of school, YAY!!!, so I'm hoping to get scrapping very soon!

In the mean time, here is a card I made for a co-worker who is leaving the luxurious world of cafeteria lunch aides!  While we do really like our jobs, by the end of the school year, it's really time to leave...kids just aren't listening to anything at this point!  Pretty similar to my kids at home...not listening!  We are all looking forward to summer break...perhaps someday we'll get a pool so we can really enjoy the heat!

Using the current card sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, here is the card I made using paper strips in my stash pile and some of the very few rolls of washi tape I own.  The stamp is from Close to my Heart.

Thanks for visiting and have a fantastic day!

Double Digits!

Mojo Monday masculine birthday card

Good Morning my scrappy friends!  Just a quick entry today~

My son has a birthday party to attend this afternoon...while family will start arriving at our home for my daughter's 10th birthday party.....after the sleepover party last night!  Whew!  Wasn't too bad...the girls fell asleep by 1am!  The house is cleaned, dishes washed and now a card is made!

This  card was inspired by Mojo Monday challenge #343, Tall and Skinny.  I used all scraps for this card along with CTMH stamps.

Here is my card:                https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtfQtzBNfXjTsKyyJE4xXw-8sw131NUMXk3YfGE_leLAyZIWWhuuGhZt-Xwg3tFcyOq75EY9d6MYImR0Q-o_VXcgWnO1E6a6pLqr_SjLPZXSc2KDqBRithhZw6KV9rLppbhIqF5Nl2hE7-/s1600/Mojo343Sketch.gif

Feel(ing) This Moment

Good Morning my scrappy friends!  It's a simply gorgeous morning here in South Jersey!  Very crisp and sunny with tons of bird songs!  If it weren't for allergies, spring would be my most favorite season!

I completed this layout in 3 days!  That's almost a record for me!  These photos are of my daughter from a few years ago jamming on her new Paper Jams guitar.  She must have gotten the recommended amount of exercise during this day for the next few weeks!  She was just having the best time!

I used DCWV RockStar stack for the patterned papers, white and green/yellow papers were from my stash.  Don Juan Cricut cartridge was used for the title, CTMH and Imaginisce stamps, vellum and flower stickers also were from my stash.  I can't remember which cartridge I used for the die cut guitar.

This LO will be entered into a few challenges on scrapbook.com, sketchesforyou.ning.com, and turtle soup forum.

Thanks for visiting and have a FANTASTIC spring day!

Share Your Sparkle

Hello again my scrappy friends!  I have another LO for you that I completed a little while ago but just never get on the blog.  I'm sure you know how that goes~

I grabbed my inspiration from several places when creating this cute LO...yes I think its very cute :)  The sketch came from

Oh Happy Day

Good Morning and Happy Easter to my scrappy friends!  We had a wonderful time at my sister's with lots of family and friends, great food, 2 egg hunts, and more candy from 3 other "bunnies"!  I think we are set with candy until Halloween!

I was able to create a fun layout of my daughter from a few years ago during the weekend.  My inspiration for this LO was from the Turtle Soup forum.  We were instructed to go through the short April mini blog hop and collect puzzle pieces from each blog.  Then print the pieces to assemble the sketch to create a LO.  Such fun!  Here is the LO I created:

I used papers from Webster, stamps from CTMH (just received them in the mail!!), embossing powder for the title, and Cricut Don Juan cartridge.  I'm also entering this LO in a few challenges at scrapbook.com and sketchesforyou.ning.com.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your Monday~

Its A Girl

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy Spring, happy birds chipping and happy sunshine!  It's been such a welcome to not have snow and and freezing temperatures!  I'm off today getting a new air conditioner installed so here I am creating a card for a baby shower this weekend.

I was inspired by retrosketches blog card sketch challenge #108.  The challenge is active until April 4th.  You have two more days to enter!  This is my first time entering one of their challenges, although I have used their sketches to make card previously.  I love their sketches, just so different!

Practice

Hello my scrappy friends!  I've been creating slowing, finishing projects here and there, but seem to run out of time to post on my blog.  I miss lots of challenges this way which make me sad.  But now that my son has cross-over to Boy Scouts which have meetings every Monday night and my daughter is playing softball again which starts next week's practices, I'm not sure I'll have much time to scrap in the near future.  But I will take pictures so when I do have time, I'll be sure to have photos when I do have the time!

This weekend I haven't been feeling well but did take some time from watching tv and napping to create a layout!  It felt good!

I've never completed a challenge at CSI: Color, Stories, Inspiration blog but I sure did today!  Check out the challenge with CSI and Archi-Scraps that ends on March 31, 2014.

I used a fantastic sketch from Page Drafts this month too!   I used the 4th sketch on the blog,

Here is my first completed challenge for this blog!  I used the required all 5 colors, at least 2 clues from the evidence (I used stripes, deco border, tree and clouds) and at least 1 testimony clue (I used a border to my journaling spot).

Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic evening~

Anniversary Card

Hello once again scrappy friends!  On a bit of a roll today...another card completed!  This one is for my parents 43rd wedding anniversary!  I'm so happy, and blessed, to have parents who are still married.  It's a shame others aren't together for as long as we all wish on our wedding days.

This card was made using scraps from my stash and miscellaneous stamps.  I used the circle edge punch as a symbol of the wedding rings (that my parents no long wear!) where two become one.  This card will be entered into the following challenges:

> Sketches4All, Stacy's February Card Challenge
> Cut It Up, Challenge #38
> Colorful Creations, It's All About Love
> My Scraps & More Proboards, Love Card Crop Challenge

1st Birthday celebration card

Hello my scrappy friends!  Hope you are enjoying your weekend.  We are inside once again even though the temps are rising a bit.  It is, however, doing something out there.  A combination of rain, ice, snow...just yucky!  Fine with me..I'm getting ready to scrap something, anything!    The boy is watching TV and playing on his kindle, the girl is cleaning her room (she's not happy), and hubby is watching a different TV so I can have some quiet time...I hope!

But first, my nieces 1st birthday card!  I was looking at all of my Cricut carts, looking for one that would have something appropriate for a 1 year old and a cart that I haven't used in a while.  My eyes ended up on Simply Charmed...hmmm, haven't use that one in a while.  Perfect!  Great cuts for kids or fun times and a few challenges to boot!

How cute it this card?!?  My niece is too young to appreciate it but I know she will love it when she is older.  All paper was from my leftover from other projects stash and the ribbon has unknown beginnings...perhaps I won it?  I really couldn't tell you!  I'm entering this card into the following:

> Pumpkin Spice, Challenge #59 Candy or Sweets
> Scrapbook.com, Let's Laugh Challenge
> SketchesForYou, February Color Challenge
> CafeMom, A Scrappy Patch Card Sketch Challenge

Take a look at these fantastic blogs and group for you chance to enter!  Thanks for visiting today~

St. Valentine's Day card

Hello Scrappy Friends!  Another snow day here in NJ!  We aren't complaining!  The kids get to play most of the day and I get to craft.  Poor hubby though...always on conference calls but at least he doesn't need to drive into work!

I made a Valentine Card for my daughter but she saw it and suggested I give it to my son!  Not sure about that one...perhaps too much pink for him!  I'll give it to someone...maybe not this year though~

I just used scraps of white and black cardstock for this card.  The doily stamps are from Martha Stewart.  I've had them in my stash for about a year so I figured it was time to take them out!

This card will be entered into the following challenge:

> Pumpkin Spice, Challenge #58 - Hearts

Time for Coffee!

Good morning my scrappy friends!  Happy Groundhog Day ~ did we expect the groundhog to not predict more winter, really? and Happy SuperBowl Day!  Is that real?  For some die hard football fans I'm sure it is a major holiday.  Not huge fans here, but we are going to my sister's yearly SuperBowl party this afternoon.  We haven't been there in years, hate taking the kids out of school for something so trivial but since they are doing so well in school, we are making an exception this year!  To bad we can't sleep over my sister's house as planned...more snow coming tomorrow morning :(

Anyway, since it will be a late night, I feel the need for lots of coffee today!  And that brings me to a fantastic challenge at Red Carpet Studio using the equally fantastic movie as the theme, The Breakfast Club.  Using this theme of breakfast, I chose to make a birthday card for a friend at church.  She runs a breakfast bible study for ladies at the local diner and of course, we always order lots of coffee!

I used my new stamps (that I bought from HSN last year!) by Inspired Inc. Simply Iconic Stamp Kit.  I obviously used the coffee cup with straw and  steam, along with the coffee beans laying to the side.

Thanks for visiting ~ GO BRONCOS!!!

Winter Fun

Good Morning my scrappy friends!  Another bitterly cold day here in NJ.  The weather is bringing us some freezing rain to go on top of the 6" of snow we received the other day.  I don't like the heat and humidity of the summer, but some warmer temps right now would be lovely!

Since school was canceled on Friday due to a snow storm, and I don't drive on snow/ice covered roads, I've been busy scrapping, playing with the kids, and watching movies with the husband.  Here is a double layout I finished yesterday...lots of distressing and messiness!

Each page is meant for different challenges on blogs.  Using the first page of my double, I entered the Scrappy Friends challenge of 2014!  4 blog challenges for one LO!  So much fun ~  I flipped the sketch for my photos from Brenda's challenge; used the burgundy, light green, and blues for Kelly's color challenge; used the words "winter" and "fun" from Kristi's word challenge; and used the bottom row of bingo for Rochelle's challenge - mist, 3 photos, buttons.

Here is the original sketch from Granddiva- Brenda:
The color challenge from Kelly:

The word art challenge from Kristi B:

And Tic Tac Toe challenge from Rochelle:

Now for the second page of my double layout, I'm entering ~
> Sketches4All Brandi's challenge - Once Upon A Theme - Cheers
> Two Scrapbook Friends - distressing
> Simple Sketches #19 - sketch challenge

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you try out some of these fantastic challenges!
