I'm a Guest Deisigner this month!!

Hello my scrappy friends!  I've been asked to guest design at Lasting Memories blog this month!  So excited and honored!  This first week's challenge, #427, is to use at least 3 different patterned papers.  With all of the layers on my page, I used 11 different papers!  I just kept grabbing scraps and it was done!

I'm also entering my LO into Sketch-N-Scrap FB Merry and bright Crop for December 7th sketch challenge.  The sketch is #71 from their blog.

Just Add Ribbon!

Hello my scrappy friends!  I hope your Christmas was great with friends, family, food and presents!!  We went to my parents house as is tradition and had a fabulous time!!

I made several different cards for Christmas this year.  Today, I'm sharing two of them for a challenge on Soul Scrappers.  Quite an easy challenge, just add ribbon!

The first card's ribbon is really ribbon, the second card is a die cut of a ribbon!  The first card is made from my scrappy stash of ribbon and paper.  The sentiment stamp is from SU! retired Hang your Stocking set.  The second card is made from cardstock patterned papers from my stash.  All of the stamps and die cuts are from SU! as well, Making Spirits Bright and Christmas Pines (not sure if this one is retired).

Hello again my scrappy friends!  I made some cards for co-workers recently for the Christmas season.  Stick It Down has a wonderful sketch this month that jumped right out at me!  Here is my card for a friend who loves her coffee!  I used SU! Coffee Cafe set for the stamps and die cuts.

Stick It Down's challenges are good until December 31, 2018.  Check out the challenges...one page sketch, two page sketch and card sketch!!

Good Cheer

Hello my scrappy friends!!  I finally finished a layout I've had on my desk for a few weeks.  Just haven't found the time to scrap like I've wanted.  I used lots of scraps, ink all around, twine, punches, ink splatters, and my Cricut for the title (Base Camp cartridge).

These pictures are of my daughter in 2014 under our Christmas tree, decorating it with her ornaments.  We were pretty late in the season for buying a tree so she was quite eager to hang everything she could on it!  We had such a fun time!

I'll be entering my LO into the following blog challenges:

Rochelle Spears December Paper/Sketch challenge
If you click on the above link, you'll be taken to Rochelle's blog to view the sketch that is to be used, along with snowflake patterned paper.

Scrap with Stacy: Scrappy Friends challenge
Click on the above link to view Stacy's song/word inspiration challenge.  The song this month is quite apropos...."It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year".  Use some words from the song somewhere on your LO.  I used "good cheer" as my title.

Merry Christmas!!!

Christmas 2009

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here is a LO I created at the beginning of the month but just put the journaling on it today.  I used lots of scraps for the snowflakes and tried inking them but they still don't stand out very well.  There isn't even a title but the pictures are great and I love them!!  I have so many other pictures from this Christmas, I'm sure those layouts will be better.

Lasting Memories - #421, Using watercolors, paints, and/or misting.  I used misting and sprays and drops of ink.

Enjoy Today

Happy Thanksgiving my scrappy friends!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday yesterday, ate too much food and were able to find some great deals when shopping today!!

Here is a double LO of my son's 11th birthday party with some friends.  I was inspired by a few online blog challenges for the sketch, embellishments and journaling.

Scrap with Stacy - Song Inspiration, "Thank You'" by Led Zepplin.  I used the words smiles, smile and happiness on my LO and in my journaling.

Lasting Memories - Stamping - Use two or more...I used two different stamps, stamped three times...a stitched and solid star, both from CTMH.

Let's Scrap - Sketch 11/15 - I loved this sketch but my LO got away from me a bit!  At least the pictures are in the correct spots, just switched the pages.

Halloween card

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here is a card I made the other day for one of my nieces for Halloween.  I used a sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap,  #131.  I really like the banners on this one, easy was to add several holiday patterned papers!

I actually received a phone call this evening from my sister...my niece was yelling thanks for the card in the background!  Gotta love 5 year olds!

Onto my card.....

I used my brand new SU! stamp sets..."Making Christmas Bright" for the light bulbs and "Hang Your Stocking" for the sentiment.   Inside sentiment from "Making Christmas Bright" reads "friends make the season shine".

Love Cake

Hello my scrappy friends!  A quick LO here for you today on this beautiful October afternoon!

This is a layout of my daughter during her family birthday party when she turned 6 years old.  Miss that age!  I was inspired by Scrap Our Stash October's Blend a Sketch challenge.  I used the banner, stamped circles and diagonal patterned paper from the right sketch and from the left, I used the mixture of bottom paper (I used hearts rather then dots) and card stock for the top and the cluster of embellies upper left corner.

Sketches In Thyme

Hello my scrappy friends!  It's been a while since I've posted.  School has started, I now have two in high school, freshman and sophomore, and I've been working a temporary job as a secretary in a local town's elementary school.  Two more weeks for this job and I can clean my house and make some doctor appointments for some check ups!

Onto my sketches and layouts.  Sketches In Thyme is a great blog for challenges!  I've used two of their sketches for the month of September.  Sketch #340 is first up.  "Stop drowning me!" showcases one of the many times we've gone to the lake over the years.  My daughter always to jump on her brother's back for a ride!  Even though he was really yelling stop drowning me, he was laughing the entire time...partially drowning himself!  I've used the banner and and embellishment clusters as my inspiration as I switched the sketch upside down!

Sketch #341 inspired me to create #PHOTOBOMBGG...that would be great-grandma!   She died this past January, making it emotional to create this LO.  However, seeing her face smiling at us taking a picture at my son's 11th birthday party five years ago made it so wonderful!  She would have laughed at this LO...after we explaining the definition of photo bombing!

Friends with God

Hello my scrappy friends!

Quick post today as we are having our son's 16th birthday family party today!  Grilling in the rain, should be fun!  Hubby is looking for the table umbrella right now!

I'll be entering this layout into the challenge for Scrap Our Stash, Golden Globe Inspired challenge.  The requirements included using a journal card, which I did but it's hidden!  Look closely to see it under the close up photo of my kids on the ark.  Obviously this was vacation bible school themed Noah's Ark.  The other requirement is to use "friend" on your layout.  That is in my title!

16th Birthday

Hello my scrappy friends!

Today is our son's 16th birthday!  These past 16 years have gone by pretty fast and I can only guess that the next 16 will go even faster.  A few gifts and laughes, a yummy dinner, brownies for dessert...a pretty good day!  Family party is on Saturday, with more gifts, more laughs, some games and lots more food!

Here is the card I made our son for today.  I'm sure I'll make another for Saturday's party to go along with the other gifts we saved for him.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil named "Rays" with some Tim Holtz distress inks, paper some scraps for the scalloped border strips and a stamp set from SU! "Five for All".  The inside stamps says "it's for the greatest kid in the universe!"  I used SU! Calypso Coral  for the sentiment.  Such a quick, cute card!

I'll be entering my card into the Sketch-N-Scrap card sketch #27 challenge on their blog.  This challenge just opened on Sunday and closes at the end of the month.  Enter your cards today!!

Hot Fun in the Summer Time

Hello my scrappy friends!

When searching for titles or ideas for my layouts, I often turn to music.  I love music, all different genres!  This layout is no exception.  However, little did I know that the song that inspired my title, was a challenge online!  Check out Scrap with Stacy, for a great challenge using Sly and the Family Stone song "Hot Fun in the Summer Time".   I'll have to create new layout for Stacy's partner Rochelle Spears sketch challenge!  Guess I shouldn't complain too much about my children, teens, sleeping till noon most summer days...give me more time to scrap uninterrupted!

I used real sand, rocks and shells from the lake beach!  My Cricut, Life's a Beach, was used for the title and I think the shell...that was in my stash for the longest time!  The tag was from a swap I was involved with years ago.  Multiple washi tape strips were used in the background.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  Stop by Stacy and Rochelle's blogs for some great challenges!

Have an awesome day!!

Christmas Cookies

Hello my scrappy friends!  A quick post today as it's almost 3am and I should try to sleep once again.

Water Wars

Hello my scrappy friends!  A quick post for you right now...I gotta eat!  Stomach is growling, guess that sandwich just wasn't enough five hours ago!

This layout was from 2010 featuring my daughter getting her water gun ready for a war with her brother!  They had such good times with their water guns.  I used Echo Park Happy Summer papers for this layout and some random papers from my stash...they all matched pretty well!  I'll be entering this into the Sketch In Thyme challenge #330.

Student of the Month

Hello my scrappy friends!  I was super busy this morning, running around for and with the kids.  When we got home, I ate a little but had a killer headache.  After a quick nap, I went straight to my scrap table and created this layout while listening to some great tunes!

This is my son from 6th grade a few years ago receiving a student of the month award in front of the superintendent and the school board!  He had great grades and was seen several times, and I think this is why he actually received the award, helping other students with various things, many of the students, his friends, having special needs.  He has always been the one to step up to help others, I pray he continues this path as he grows up.

I'll be entering my layout into the following challenges, just making the deadline for one of them!

You Are Loved

Hello my scrappy friends!  It's Thursday evening and I for one am ready for bed!  It's been a busy week and it's not quite over yet!  Tomorrow morning will have some running around but the afternoon should be mine!  I'll get my crafty table ready for a layout before I go to bed tonight.  But first, I layout I created this past week.

This is my daughter some years ago, crafting with her stuffed animals.  Wish she would do more crafting these days rather then being on her phone!

This layout will be entered into the following challenges:

"Lasting Memories" Scrapbook Layout ChallengesLasting Memories #400 - Stash Bashing - Rub-Ons.  My rub-ons are hard to see on the bluish colored paper.  The rub-ons say "you are my sunshine, you make me happy, you are my sunshine" and there is a butterfly next to the words.

Use Your StuffUse Your Stuff - Mood Board.  From the mood board on the blog, I used the sequins, banners and the bright colors as my inspiration.

Every Summer has a Story

Hello my scrappy friends!  Yesterday was one week into summer vacation for us and I feel as though I need a vacation!  Everyday there has been something to do, somewhere to go, something to buy!  I have, however, found some time to make a layout or two during this past week!

These pictures were from 2009, the summer after we moved into our new house!  It seems like a lifetime ago when the kids were this small.  I miss them....now they are teens, just a little different!  Anyway, sports camp for this week, trying out new sports, basketball, soccer and baseball.  Fun and very hot week!  Across the lake were some cows that ran off from their farm, happened quite often.  Guess they were hot and needed to cool down in the lake!

I'll be entering this layout into Lasting Memories Challenge #401, Stash Busting - Paper Stash.  You need to use at least five different patterned papers.

Thanks for commenting and enjoy your Friday!!

Climbing the Chair - Stick It Down Guest Desginer

Hello my scrappy friends!  I was recently asked to be a guest designer for the double layout sketch on the Stick It Down blog!  What an honor!!  Of course, I took it on and love what I created!

I used papers from my stash, some inks splattered around and the stamps and die cuts of the sea animals are from CTMH from years ago.  Amazing what you can find when you look through all of your stash!

Take a look at the blog, Stick It Down,  for not just the double page sketch but also the single page and card sketches!  They are fantastic this month!

Have a lovely day!

14th year

Hello again my scrappy friends!  A (sort of) sad card for me...made for my daughter's 14th birthday.  How can she be 14 already?  It's going way tooooo fast!  We are blessed that she is a good girl, a good person always trying to help others when she can, a great student...her lowest grade is a 96, and does her chores when I only have to ask three or four times!  Guess you have to take the good with some of the bad...it could be worse, this I know!

Here is one of her cards.  Her birthday is tomorrow but her family party is later this month...there'll be another card for that!

I'll be entering my card into the challenge Kat Scrappiness Blog is hosting this weekend!

Also entering into Stick It Down card sketch....I've definitely used some creative license!  I did add the heart and alphas...the sketch full of letters was my inspiration!

Running Studs

Hello once again my scrappy friends!  I just completed a layout I began yesterday.  This one is of my brother-in-law and my son running a 5k in our development years ago.  My husband was one of the events organizers so he couldn't run with our son.  I did the walk with our daughter, my sister and aunt.

I'll be entering this into Sketches In Thyme #321 challenge.  This was a great sketch with which to work!
Sketches In ThymeI'm also entering the Use Your Stuff blog challenge.  It's a free week so go for it!!  The "stuff" I used for this LO are the enamel dots.  I have a few, ok several, and just never remember to use them!Use Your Stuff

Remember, just be you!

Hello my scrappy friends!  I'm home from a weekend full of layouts and laughs.  As usual, I packed too much and didn't create as much as I wanted but I had a great time!

One layout I did create is for Sketches in Thyme challenge #322.  Pictures are of my kids playing in the backyard with some friends a few years ago.  I loved being able to use so many scraps of bright, fun papers!

My Creative Girl

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here is a layout I created while attending a scrappy weekend crop. Having lots of fun, lots of laughs....now I need to create lots of layouts!  On this layout I’ve incorporated several techniques....stencils, splatters, rub-ons (I haven’t used them in years!),  Cricut die cuts, and stickers.

I’m entering this layout into the Stick It Down layout challenge for this month!  Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments!
Enjoy your weekend,

A Creative Day

Hello my scrappy friends!  Waiting for my kids to finally get out of bed and bring their dirty clothes to the laundry room...apparently it's too difficult to put them in the laundry basket each night!  Laundry day is always so loonnggg!  Drives me crazy!  But, it gives me time to finish creating my LO and post it!

My daughter and son were doing some dress up play.  This LO is of Keira, apparently "pregnant" with a stuffed piggy!  It was hysterical...her walking around holding her back, moaning, trying to sit and get up from the couch.  She was almost 7 years old when these pictures were taken.  She doens't dress up like this any longer, good thing since she'll be 14 years old in two weeks (yikes!), but she still have a terrific sense of humor!  For that, I'm most thankful!

Check out these blog challenges where I'm entering this LO!

Family Fun

Hello again my scrappy friends!  Here is another LO have finally completed.  Its taken probably one week, after throwing it to the side two times, and I mean literally throwing it to the side!  I spilled ink on it twice, on both pictures on two different occasions,  glue from another project landed on it...on the pictures again, I stamped some flourishes like I've never stamped before in my life...got on a picture and wasn't exactly straight.  It's been through the ringer but I persevered and it has been finished!  Not my best work, but not my worst either...amazing how some die cuts and punches as cover mistakes!

I'll be entering this layout into....

celebrate - new baby

Hello my scrappy friends!  Cold weekend here in south NJ but no snow at least!  I made some cards yesterday for people at work.  This first card is for my daughter's Italian teacher who is having her second child, another boy, in just a couple of weeks.

Sketch-N-Scrap has a great card sketch (#119) this week and Hiding in my Craft Room (#347) is asking for spring colors!  Here is my card for both of these challenges.

The bottom layer of the circles has spring colors as does the background patterned paper.  The banners are made from slightly springy colors but ended up darker than I though they would.  With liquid ink, I made some dots and used an old credit card to smear the colors down the paper.  Very cool technique that I'm sure I'll try again!  Here is the link to the blog where I learned about paper scraping! https://persialou.com/diy-art-project-idea/
