1 amazing horsey

Hello my scrappy friends!  It's been so long since I've been crafty....life tends to get in the way sometimes!   I recently completed a layout from several years ago...can't figure the exact year but knowing which house, it was between 2006-2008.  So long ago, I really miss my kids at these ages, about 3 and 4 years old, now they are just about 13 (this Sunday) and 14 years!  Still great kids, I just miss the younger years.  I think my husband's back would break if he tried being a horsey now for these two! LOL

Excuse my carpet being so prominent....couldn't crop it properly!  I used various papers from My Minds Eye and DCWV.  Cricut cartridges Accent Essentials and All Mixed Up were used for the hexagons and title, respectively.    Wooden embellishments were from a little baggie I won a while back.  Journaling will be added to the orange triangle.

Some blog challenges I'll be entering:

The Paper Players - #342 - Tic-Tac-Toe:  I used diagonal, Circle-Die Cut-Flower (in the pp)

Connie Can Crop - Spring Fling Cyber Crop Challenge #1: Create a project that has something jumping off the page.  Although not quite jumping, the wooden hexagons and word cluster are popped up using pop dots.

Sketch-N-Scrap FB 5th Birthday Crop -  Sketch challenge...with some liberties taken.

Ice Cream: A Sweet Escape

Hello my scrappy friends!  Quick post today as I'm not feeling too well, although much better then yesterday.

Here is a LO of my daughter a few years ago totally enjoying some ice cream, actually, probably too much ice cream!  But heck, we all need to splurge every once in a while, don't we?!?

I used a DCWV stacks for all of the paper.  Glitter Stack, Spring Glitter Stack and Sweet Stack are some of the paper used...I know this since they are still sitting on the floor waiting to be put away!  Some scraps were used for the SU! ice cream sundae bowl in the upper left page.

This yummy LO is being entered into the following:

Let's Scrap Sketches - 3/15/17 2 page sketch

Lasting Memories - using 3 different tags - I used the green circle tag on the 2nd page which is chipboard, the hey girl on the first page I made into a tag, and the ice cream sundae tag I made.  The twine has been in my stash for years!

another freaking scrappy challenge - using chipboard and something old from stash - The green circle tag on 2nd page is chipboard and all of the paper used is old...all DCWV paper.

The Heart Desires -  mood board challenge - I used several of the colors in my LO.

Off the Rails Scrapbooking - mood board challenge - I used several of the colors in my LO, love the spring colors!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hello again my scrappy friends!  St. Patrick's Day is just around the corner and although my husband, our kids and I don't celebrate like I did as a kid, we still drink green milk and I make cards!  My mom, however, still makes corned beef and cabbage to feed an army (I make just a little for me!) and an army she will have this year!  I think my two sisters, their husbands, two kids, and my family will be joining my parents this year for a yummy Irish feast!

Here is a card I made for one of my nieces...I need to make another for her sister and perhaps for my kids and my dad.....he is the Irish one!  I used several strips of pps from my stash for various shades of green.  Two Cricut cartridges were used -- Celebrate with Flourish (shamrocks) and Art Philosophy for the scallop banner.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:

Simply Create Too blog - #125 - Lots of Green

Bitten By the Bug 2 - Think Green - Use 3 shades

Curtain Call - Inspiration : Green

Riding a Quad

Hello again my scrappy friends!  Late night last night creating a LO and finished the final touches this morning!  I have lots of older photos printed so when I see a challenge, especially a sketch or ingredients challenges, I rummage through my photos for some inspiration!  The stars aligned for me and a page last night!

These photos are from July 4th, 2011.  My husband was traveling for 4 weeks to India for work.  Our kids were small, 7 and 9, and were definitely going to miss daddy.  School was out so I make plans to visit family and places,  arranged play dates and sleepovers, any daily outing I could think of all so that they would be so tired, they wouldn't have time to miss dad....nor would I miss my husband so much.  We were so very tired from all of our activities but I don't think it helped us missing him all that much...but we made some fantastic memories!
Independence Day is always a big holiday for me and I try to instill my sense of  patriotism in my children any chance I get.   Family is so important and spending time celebrating our country with them is priceless.  This year we went to my sisters who has a pool and pretty new quad.  Such a fantastic time we had!

I'm entering my layout into the following challenges:

Lasting Memories - #331, Celebration of Love

Scrap Our Stash - February Sketch and word CUPID - I used ingredients C clip - U uchida circle punch & uni ball pen - P polka dot pp - I ink - D die cuts

Purple Valentine

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here in southern NJ we are experiencing some lovely warmer then usual weather!  Jeans and a sweatshirt, hearing birds all around, seeing the sun shine is just a perfect day for me!  Here is a quick post so I can enjoy the outdoors!

This card I made for my daughter for St. Valentine's Day.  I wanted more of a spring colored card but still had this black and red die cut heart.  I have to tell you that the card looks much better in person!  The green strip  and yellow/red flowers strip help bring out the colors in the purplely flowered patterned paper.  Because of the black heart, I thought some black ink edging on all papers was needed.  Now that I look at this  card, I really should have added some glitter stickles for a bit of shine!  Next time!!

I'll be entering this card into the following challenges:

The Hearts Desires Blog - Mid-Challenge 9 - inspiration challenge - I was inspired by the flowers and reds and yellows.

Hand Stamped Sentiments - #257 - I was inspired by the photos purple flowers.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving some comments!!  Have a wonderful week!

Luke 1:37 inspired

Good Morning my scrappy friends!  Too many germs are being shared in this house recently...YUK!  According to Punxsutawney Phil, "The Prognosticator of Prognosticators", of Gobbler's Knob, PA, we will have another six weeks of winter!  Fine by me....hoping the cold temperatures will kill these sickie germs!

But onto a card I made for a co-worker who is going in for a little procedure in 2 weeks.  she is very nervous so I'm hoping, with this card, she knows there are people thinking of her and rooting for her, praying for good results.

I used my brand new water brush for water coloring!  First time I've used it.  I didn't use watercolor paper so a little warping happened but I'm really ok with it.  Fun new technique for me!  Can't wait to used it again!
The papers are just scraps from my stash.  The stamps are from STAMPlorations set called Faith Expressions.

These are the challenges I'm entering:

STAMPlorations - Janurary Challenge: Theme and Sketch - I've used the sketch.

Just Us Girls - Photo Week #378 - The flower were the perfect inspiration for me!

Try Stampin'-or Not-on Tuesday - Sketch #306 - My card is inspired by this sketch w/o using a circle.

Connie Can Crop - Challenge #55 - Stamp Your Heart Out - My sentiment and graphic are stamped.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting!  Have a wonderful day and don't forget to keep those winter jackets handy for six more weeks!
