Good morning scrappy friends! Well, right night it's the middle of the night. Can't sleep so I'm drinking coffee and scrapping! Hope I can scrap a page or two later in the day as I'll be busy for the next two days with school meetings to become a substitute teacher and sleepovers and movies! Summer is ending too quickly for me....I'm going to miss my kids when they go back to school in two weeks! Wow, two weeks will be the first day of school!
Anyway....here is a LO I completed the other day. I don't really like it. I tried different things...writing on a very busy patterned papers, using a very busy patterned paper as the background, ugh...it's awful, and what's up with that inking circling the photos? It's like Jaws circle the boat! Just awful..nothing really matches, but it's going into the scrap album for my daughter. Not every thing I create am I going to love. That's life though, the possibility of disappointments and ugly things. My next LO won't be disappointing nor ugly...at least I hope not!
I'm entering this LO into these chalenges:
Scrap Our Stash - August Sketch + 3 - I used various manufacturers,
washi tape and Xyron. I love the sketch that was provided so I'm sure I
will use it again...and it will be prettier!
Lasting Memories - #307Summer Nights Photo Inspiration - Just love the colors provided!
Picture This! - Not so Picture Perfect - I wasn't thrilled with these pictures as I was taking them! My daughter was the furthest student from me, but at least I was able to take some photos of her learning self defense!
Thanks for stopping by~
Jennifer

ReplyDeleteIt is not awful, I like the choice of papers, the triangles one just stands out and the "arrows" are great to catch your daughter immediately.
I like that the journaling is not so visible :-)
Hope to see your works for the next challenges :-)
I think it's very nice! I love trying new things too; sometimes it turns out well, sometimes it doesn't...but still it's a loving layout, right? Thanks for joining us at Scrap Our Stash:)
ReplyDeleteI totally understand where you're coming from. My last layout really felt flat and lacking character, but it's done and the memory documented and that's what matters. Thanks for joining us at lasting memories
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling of not sleeping, isn't it great that we have a wonderful hobby to fill the hours! Awesome layout....thanks for playing along with Lasting Memories!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your color and your paper. Can’t sleep is really not good but you make good use for the night, I think it is a perfect night and this is a great take on the not so perfect picture challenge. Thank you for joining at Picture This!
ReplyDeleteI totally disagree with your assessment of you layout, I think it looks great. I love a busy background, especially when I am scrapping pictures that I don't completely love. But I get it, I make stuff all the time that I end up really hating! lol! That is the scrappy life :) I can't wait to see more of your work over at Picture This! Thanks for playing along!
ReplyDeleteGive it a week or so - sometimes you're just "over" a layout, but then you can go back and look at it later and you actually like it :) I like the patterned papers/combo! Thanks for taking the challenge at Scrap Our Stash!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely lovely and cute layout. Love the sketch take and stash use. Thanks for your entry in our challenge at Scrap Our Stash!
ReplyDeleteSometimes what we may not love, others do. So many things to like about this layout, and the important one is that you scrapped a memory. Thanks for sharing and joining in with PictureThis!

ReplyDeleteVery pretty, love the color scheme. Thanks for joining us at SOS.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining us @PT. Your pics match the challenge. We can't be satisfied with every one of our pages and photos, can we? However, I think there is nothing you should be ashamed of concerning your page. Plus it tells a story and enables your to remember that particular moment. Isn't it the reasons why we all scrap ?According to me, your page is totally valuable!
ReplyDeleteFabulous layout and such a great page! Thanks for joining us at Picture This!
ReplyDeleteGreat colours! I tend to suffer from the same photo 'failure' every time i try taking photos at my son's events - he's always far away and it seems like the pics are of some random kids with him as an 'extra' ;) Nevertheless, they are still a memory of an important event so...why no scrap it?!?!?! Thank you for joining us at Picture This! challenges.
ReplyDeletefabulous page.. great layers and colours
