And he SCORES!

Hello again my scrappy friends!  Even though we had company today where I got to watch the kids, while my husband and his friend were running - training for a marathon in April - I got to scrap!  The kids played their new Disney Infinity and SkyLanders Xbox games, I was right next to them playing with my papers punches and Cricut!

This layout is of my son playing some basketball during sports skills week back in 2009.  I'm entering this into Sketch-N-Scrap challenge Sketch with Stash #10.  The challenge was to use the sketch below along with 2 border punches and one other punch.  I used EK success circle chain and binding border punches. The other punches were the Christmas ornament punch from SU! and circle punch from Martha Stewart....that's how the basketballs were made! DCWV paper stack The Sweet Stack was used for all of the patterned paper.  The title is cut from the Cricut Mini Monograms using white cardstock that I inked using Tim Holtz distress ink in spiced marmalade.

Thanks for stopping by...hope to see you tomorrow too!

Twin babies card

Hello my scrappy friends!  I seem to have lost part of my previous post, not sure what I did, so here is the missing part!

One of my son's teachers is expecting twins next month.  He asked me to make her a card so I did!  I used the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up for the carriages, DCWV patterned papers, miscellaneous ribbon from my stash, and My Sentiments Exactly! ltd. and Autumn Leaves for the word stamps.

This card was inspired not only from the miracle of new life but also from Twisted Tuesday's latest challenge, New Beginnings.  The challenge is to used something crafty that is new to you and the theme is for something new or in the beginning.  A baby, or babies!, are new and my new crafty thing the ribbon.  Although it was in my stash, it was newly won from a challenge I entered.

Be sure to check out Twisted Tuesday challenges for your chance to create something new!

Birthday Layout and Babies Card

Happy Birthday Layout

Merry Christmas my scrappy friends!  I hope your Christmas was joyous with faith, presents, friends and family!

I've gotten a little time to scrap!  This is a layout of my 11 year old son Declan from his 7th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.  Please tell me you are all this far behind in keeping memories!

I used Cricut Slumber Party for the crown and Art Philosophy & Accent Essentials (I think!) for the stars.  Papers and cardstock from DCWV, sentiment and circle stamps are from My Sentiments Exactly! ltd.

I am entering this layout for the Scrap Our Stash Challenge #10 - Word Art Inspiration.

The challenges are to 1) create a layout about your family or someone in your family,  2) use a phrase from the word art, and 3) add 4 photo corners from your stash.

Always a fun challenge from the Scrap Our Stash girls!  Go check them out for yourself.  You will be happy you did!

Christmas cards

Well, hello my scrappy friends!  Once school started for my children back in September, I seem to have run out of time for creating anything with papers!  But, thank God for Christmas...in many ways, the least significant being able to craft once again.  I made 52 cards, assembly line style like I do each year for friends, family, co-workers and YES even teachers!  Politically correct I am not!

Inside is stamped, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14" from CTMH, the Merry Christmas stamp on the front is from Studio G.  Simple embossing using my Big Kick and the Cuttlebug wreath folder, a snowflake punch I borrowed from my Aunt Barbara, an open scallop border punch from ek success, and red and white stickles round out my cute little cards!

I'm entering my cards into the CHRISTMAS theme challenge sponsored by Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

Thanks for looking and have a very blessed Merry Christmas!

Layouts for my Son

Hello my scrappy friends!  It's almost time for school for us, little less then 2 weeks!  The summer went by so fast but it was fun visiting family, going to the movies, and day trips.  I'll miss my kids when they go back to school, but it's time.

Here are some layouts I created last week while attending a crop.  These layouts are all of my son.  Since his 11th birthday was at the beginning of this month, I decided to focus on him!

Summer: Allergy Induced Coma

Love you to the core!

Hello once again my scrappy friends!  Another quick post as we are jetting out to visit family!  We are off to my sister and brother-in-law's (my daughter is already there!) for a sleepover tonight.  We need to be well rested for our trip to the Bronx Zoo tomorrow!  We'll meet up with my other sister and her two little girls and some friends.  Then off to my aunts house again to relax at the lake during the day and play cards at night with great-grandma.  I'm so lucky that my children love family so much and that we get to see them often, especially during the summer.

Visiting leaves me little time for scrapping but family has got to come first!  I did however make some time to create a card for my son's 11th birthday just last week.  I've entered it into the Reverse Confetti August Sketch in the hopes of winning some stamps...the entire next new release!  I love Jen del Muro's blog and her creative stamps!

Here is the sketch, cute isn't it?!?

Here is my card....

Thanks so stopping by!  Enjoy your family :)

Let's Celebrate Birthday Card

Good Evening my scrappy friends!  It was a busy weekend for my kids....sleepover birthday party for my daughter's friend and a sleepover birthday party at home for my son.  My daughter didn't sleep much but thankfully my son and his friends did!

This card I made suing my Cricut Mickey and Friends cartridge, first time I used it and it shows.  Obviously I didn't line the cuts properly but I made it and will try it again for other cards and layouts.

Using the sketch from Unscripted Sketches Flashback #27 and  from Stuck on U Sketches Disney die cut challenge, this is my card,

I used scraps from my stash from various manufactures and the stamp sentiment is from Studio G.

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful night!
Off to watch America's Funniest Videos with the family~

Fabulous Style

Good morning my scrappy friends!  We are getting ready to go food shopping for our son's 11th birthday party...a small sleepover with 3 other boys.  I'm not exactly sure what to do with four 10 and 11 year old boys but I'm thinking video games, Legos, video games, eating, video games, maybe some board games and did I mention video games!?!  It's all they seem to want to do.  Fine with me, my house shouldn't get too destroyed playing video games!

Onto why we're really here...my latest layout!  I used the MME July Sketch Challenge for two pictures of my daughter's Girl Scout Daisy trip to a place called Enchanted Dreams.  A fantastic little place perfect for little girls to dress up like princesses and fairies and dance around and have a spot of tea!  It was wonderful seeing their faces light up at all of the fancy dresses and wings!

I used MME papers, fussy cut the circles/doilies, stamped using CTMH stamps, and die cut the title and arrows from various Cricut cartridges.

Slip Slide Away~

Hello my scrappy friends!  Another summer LO completed!  This one of my son from July 2009 during a week or Sports Skills run by the county.  It was a fantastic week of fun!

This layout was created using scraps from various manufacturers including DCWV and Colorbok.  Stamps are from CTMH.  I'm entering this into About A Boy July 15 challenge "showcasing water in some way" and Let's Get Sketchy week 1 sketch challenge.

Thanks for the great challenges :)  You have a few more days to enter your own layouts!

Summer Fun!

Well, hello my scrappy friends!  It's been a while since I've posted or scrapped even!  This month has been filled with fun filled days with my kids...visiting family, movies, bowling, play dates, and VBS.  Gotta live it up while we can....little more then a month from now we'll be back at school!  I can't believe it, already!

So, lets' get to it!  My first LO is of both my children at the lake, we go often, from 3 years ago.  I never said I was caught up!  I used DCWV glitter mat stack for the glittery "summer" subtitle, CTMH Pennant Alphabet stamp set for the title "celebrate", and making memories travel paper for my pennant banners.

This LO will be entered into the following blogs:
>> Twisted Tuesday #54 - use something that begins with the letter I (used ink) and the twist of embossing (on the blue paper).
>> Embellish Me Happy July Challenge celebrating summer
>> Lets Get Sketchy Week  2 sketch challenge, featuring half photos.  Obviously I used twine to give the illusion of half photos.
>> Sketches 4 All Technique Tuesday week 4 banners

Off for lunch and hair cuts this afternoon!
Thanks for visiting~

All New Day

Hello my scrappy friends!  I think it took me less then 2 hours to make this LO which is a record for me!  I'm a very ssllooowww scrapper...always.  I don't know why, several reasons I guess...picking out papers, choosing die cuts, inks, photo placement.  It just takes me time to make decisions, but that's ok.  At least I get pages done eventually!

So here is the LO I completed yesterday using lots of stamps and bright colors.  It's pictures of my daughter at the lake so bright colors work perfectly, especially with her brightly colored bathing suit!  I inked a white card stock paper, trying to mimic the water and sand background, using Tim Holtz distressed inks in iced spruce, salty ocean, corduroy and marmalade.  All of the stamps are from Oriental Trading clear stamp set, Summer.

I'm very happy with how this one turned out.  The stamps were perfect wording for it too!  I'm entering this layout into the following challenges:

> About A Girl July challenge - using the word NEW somewhere on your LO
> My Scraps & More mini challenge #1 - using 3 different stamps
> SWAT Drill #11 - using 80's Neon colors

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your day!

Winners, a t-ball layout

Happy Weekend my scrappy friends!  I hope everyone had a fabulous Independence Day and three day weekend.

This layout is being entered into a few challenge, most being red, white and blue colors required!  These colors work perfectly for my son's uniform colors.  I did some faux stitching on the blue and white papers, used MME and WRMK  patterned papers, some stickers, brads and buttons that have been in my stash forever.  The font is my first attempt at a mixed alpha title using Cricut diecut (Don Juan cartridge), chipboard letters (Basic Grey) and stamps...those are the white squares with red ink.  The stamps are from Scrappy Moms clear stamps, Alphabet Soup.  I won a challenge from Red Carpet Studios a little while ago and this is the stamp set I chose!  I'm loving it :)

OK, so the challenges I entered:
> Paper Secrets sketch challenge with a twist - using textured background (I made my own by scoring it with my MS score board every half inch.)
> About a Boy color challenge - using red, white and blue
> Mind Minds Eye July color challenge - using red, white and blue
> Sketches 4 All July mixed alpha challenge

Thanks for visiting and have a wonderful night!

Weekend Scrapping!

Hello my scrappy friends!  Hope you are having a wonderful Sunday afternoon :)

Imagine....

Here is my latest layout I've completed for my son's Boy Scout album.  As with most of my layouts, the photos are from a few years ago.

Bad picture I know...it's storming once again in New Jersey so no good lighting :(  I used Sassafras Monstrosity and Amplify paper stacks...definitely whimsical enough for a young boy's layout!  The large card in the left side corner is from a kids Old Maid card game, title cut from Don Juan Cricut cartridge, fire truck cut from Boys will be boys Cricut cartridge, and the subtitle are stamps from CTMH, keyboard uppercase alphabet.

Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog is one of my favorites!  Always using a Cricut cut, I feel as though I'm using all of the cartridges I've invested in for my cards and layouts :)  This months is Challenge #166 Frame It!

Sketches4All is hosting a challenge, by Cheryl,  this month using the word prompt "Imagine".  You can either use the word or use it as inspiration for ANY project.
I missed the Scrap Our Stash challenge Sketch with Stash Challenge #4 as it ended last night, but at least I scrapped another layout using a great sketch!

Tomato Heads

A fun afternoon at our local Tomato Festival for my kids!  We've gone for the past several years and it's always a great experience.

Entering this cuteness in the Sketch-N-Scrap challenge #35.  I switched it up a bit by moving my photos so they aren't directly next to each other. You still have a few hours to enter into this challenge!

Layouts from a Crop

Hello my scrappy friends!  I recently went at a 12 hour crop and completed a few layouts.  Well, not quite completed.  I always have to tweak them when I get home...add a little bling or stickles or some kind of embellishment.  I tend not to bring too many little things with me when cropping.  What do you bring when you go cropping?

This first layout, sketch from My Mind's Eye, June Sketch Challenge, is of my son Declan writing his name in chalk with the help of his Aunt Pruie (my sister Prudence).  I'm entering it into challenges for Sketches4All "travel" ingredients challenge, About A Boy June 15th challenge - Going in Circles, and Paper Secrets June 15th Sketch with a Twist...using product with numbers (aside from alpha sets) bingo cards, price tags, rulers, etc. on your layout.
My patterned papers are from Sassafras stacks Amplify and Monstrosity.

My second and final layout (for today's post) is another of my son, a few years older!  He was getting ready for a boy scout function and I just had to take some photos of my boy growing older.  This fabulous sketch is from Sketchabilitieshttp://sketchabilities.blogspot.com/2013/06/Sketch93DesignTeamRevealwithWant2Scrap.html, #93.  This layout will be entered in challenges for Scrap Our Stash all about our guys challenge using at least 5 brads, Sketches 4 All technique challenge using old papers.  I used a page under the fleur de lis from an old book. I inked and distressed the paper trying to mimic the color and design of my son's uniform neckerchief.  Lastly, this layout is being entered into Colorful Creations June monthly challenge using shapes..  I used circles...for the mats of the fleur de lis (cut from my Cricut) and inked circles all over the background paper using a water bottle cap!  All of the paper used is from K & Co. Boy Scouts of America: Cub Scouts paper stack.

A layout of Kiki

Hello my scrappy friends!  Here is a LO of my daughter Keira, commonly known around our house as Kiki.  We were so happy to move to our home 5 years ago in "farm land", a small town where everyone knows everyone...or close to knowing everyone.  One of the perks of living here is the annual tomato festival that we attend.  This layout is our first time going and Kiki got a butterfly face painting.

This is going to be entered in the following challenges:

End of the Year

School's out for Summer!  I always think of the Alice Cooper's song at the end of every school year.  We ended this past Thursday and the summer colds have hit us already!  My poor husband and daughter are sick with sore throats, stuffy noses and headaches.  What a way to spend Father's Day :(

Anyway, here is a card I made for one of my son's teachers.  I used the Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge for the water melon and sentiment.  Diamond Stickles were used for the seeds and part of the sentiment.  I'm entering it into CafeMom's The Scrappy Patch week 2 card challenge, Reverse Confetti sketch challenge and Sketches4All card challenge.

This card was made for my son's other teacher, his FAVORITE ever in his school career (he just finished 4th grade)!  Again, my Cricut Just Because Cards cartridge was used for the cake and sentiment.  Diamond, X-mas Red and Green Stickles were used on the cake, cherry and sentiment.  I'm entering this card into CafeMoms The Scrappy Patch week 1 open challenge, Sketches4All stash challenge.

Hello my scrappy friends!  Today I made a card in between my laundry loads.  It's a card for my sister and brother in law's 8th wedding anniversary.  I used my Cricut cartridge Love Struck 2010 for the couple die cut and scraps of paper I had in my stash.

This card is being entered into a few challenges:

Follow Your Inner Gymnast

Good rainy Morning scrappy friends!  Very wet and gray here in south New Jersey but I'll take it.  The grass and flowers do need some watering and I'm glad I don't have to pay for it today!

Quick post today since I need to leave for work in a few minutes.  This layout is of my son Declan when we got our swing set.  We were all on it for hours that day, enjoying some family time outside.  I'm entering this into Sketches4All for the word prompt "remember", About a Boy for June 1st favorite activity and StuckOnYourSketches for using birds, and a new to me challenge blog Red Carpet Studio challenge #39 "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas" for using stripes.  Have you read this book or watched the movie?  Incredible!  You should definitely read it or watch it.   Sorry for the crooked photo..sometimes it happens!

Thanks for visiting and enjoy your weekend!!
