Time for Coffee!

Good morning my scrappy friends!  Happy Groundhog Day ~ did we expect the groundhog to not predict more winter, really? and Happy SuperBowl Day!  Is that real?  For some die hard football fans I'm sure it is a major holiday.  Not huge fans here, but we are going to my sister's yearly SuperBowl party this afternoon.  We haven't been there in years, hate taking the kids out of school for something so trivial but since they are doing so well in school, we are making an exception this year!  To bad we can't sleep over my sister's house as planned...more snow coming tomorrow morning :(

Anyway, since it will be a late night, I feel the need for lots of coffee today!  And that brings me to a fantastic challenge at Red Carpet Studio using the equally fantastic movie as the theme, The Breakfast Club.  Using this theme of breakfast, I chose to make a birthday card for a friend at church.  She runs a breakfast bible study for ladies at the local diner and of course, we always order lots of coffee!

I used my new stamps (that I bought from HSN last year!) by Inspired Inc. Simply Iconic Stamp Kit.  I obviously used the coffee cup with straw and  steam, along with the coffee beans laying to the side.

Thanks for visiting ~ GO BRONCOS!!!

Winter Fun

Good Morning my scrappy friends!  Another bitterly cold day here in NJ.  The weather is bringing us some freezing rain to go on top of the 6" of snow we received the other day.  I don't like the heat and humidity of the summer, but some warmer temps right now would be lovely!

Since school was canceled on Friday due to a snow storm, and I don't drive on snow/ice covered roads, I've been busy scrapping, playing with the kids, and watching movies with the husband.  Here is a double layout I finished yesterday...lots of distressing and messiness!

Each page is meant for different challenges on blogs.  Using the first page of my double, I entered the Scrappy Friends challenge of 2014!  4 blog challenges for one LO!  So much fun ~  I flipped the sketch for my photos from Brenda's challenge; used the burgundy, light green, and blues for Kelly's color challenge; used the words "winter" and "fun" from Kristi's word challenge; and used the bottom row of bingo for Rochelle's challenge - mist, 3 photos, buttons.

Here is the original sketch from Granddiva- Brenda:
The color challenge from Kelly:

The word art challenge from Kristi B:

And Tic Tac Toe challenge from Rochelle:

Now for the second page of my double layout, I'm entering ~
> Sketches4All Brandi's challenge - Once Upon A Theme - Cheers
> Two Scrapbook Friends - distressing
> Simple Sketches #19 - sketch challenge

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you try out some of these fantastic challenges!

Happy New Year and a Birthday card!

Happy Happy New Year my scrappy friends!  I hope you night was filled with happiness and friends and family!  We stayed home last night...hubby, me and the kids.  We ate really bad for you food and ice cream floats, played tons of games, laughed and watched the ball drop on tv.  We even stayed up a little past midnight..the kids were so tired they slept in the family room.  Can't wait to scrap those photos!

My mom's birthday is on the 9th of this month so here is a card I made for her.  Quick card but I love the way it turned out!

I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug folder, Happy Birthday, inked with Tim Holtz distressed inks - iced spruce, faded jeans, marmalade, used liquid pearls in rouge for the flowers.  The ribbon is from my stash as are the diamond gems.

This card is being entered into a few challenges:
Freshly Made Sketches #117 - sketch challenge
Red Carpet Studios #60 New Years Eve - use something new on your project - the liquid pearls are new!
Sentimental Sundays #187: Pick from our Favorite Challenge - I chose the # 170 challenge: Happy Birthday.

Wishing you many blessings for the new year~

And he SCORES!

Hello again my scrappy friends!  Even though we had company today where I got to watch the kids, while my husband and his friend were running - training for a marathon in April - I got to scrap!  The kids played their new Disney Infinity and SkyLanders Xbox games, I was right next to them playing with my papers punches and Cricut!

This layout is of my son playing some basketball during sports skills week back in 2009.  I'm entering this into Sketch-N-Scrap challenge Sketch with Stash #10.  The challenge was to use the sketch below along with 2 border punches and one other punch.  I used EK success circle chain and binding border punches. The other punches were the Christmas ornament punch from SU! and circle punch from Martha Stewart....that's how the basketballs were made! DCWV paper stack The Sweet Stack was used for all of the patterned paper.  The title is cut from the Cricut Mini Monograms using white cardstock that I inked using Tim Holtz distress ink in spiced marmalade.

Thanks for stopping by...hope to see you tomorrow too!

Twin babies card

Hello my scrappy friends!  I seem to have lost part of my previous post, not sure what I did, so here is the missing part!

One of my son's teachers is expecting twins next month.  He asked me to make her a card so I did!  I used the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up for the carriages, DCWV patterned papers, miscellaneous ribbon from my stash, and My Sentiments Exactly! ltd. and Autumn Leaves for the word stamps.

This card was inspired not only from the miracle of new life but also from Twisted Tuesday's latest challenge, New Beginnings.  The challenge is to used something crafty that is new to you and the theme is for something new or in the beginning.  A baby, or babies!, are new and my new crafty thing the ribbon.  Although it was in my stash, it was newly won from a challenge I entered.

Be sure to check out Twisted Tuesday challenges for your chance to create something new!

Birthday Layout and Babies Card

Happy Birthday Layout

Merry Christmas my scrappy friends!  I hope your Christmas was joyous with faith, presents, friends and family!

I've gotten a little time to scrap!  This is a layout of my 11 year old son Declan from his 7th birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's.  Please tell me you are all this far behind in keeping memories!

I used Cricut Slumber Party for the crown and Art Philosophy & Accent Essentials (I think!) for the stars.  Papers and cardstock from DCWV, sentiment and circle stamps are from My Sentiments Exactly! ltd.

I am entering this layout for the Scrap Our Stash Challenge #10 - Word Art Inspiration.

The challenges are to 1) create a layout about your family or someone in your family,  2) use a phrase from the word art, and 3) add 4 photo corners from your stash.

Always a fun challenge from the Scrap Our Stash girls!  Go check them out for yourself.  You will be happy you did!

Thanks for stopping by~

Christmas cards

Well, hello my scrappy friends!  Once school started for my children back in September, I seem to have run out of time for creating anything with papers!  But, thank God for Christmas...in many ways, the least significant being able to craft once again.  I made 52 cards, assembly line style like I do each year for friends, family, co-workers and YES even teachers!  Politically correct I am not!

Inside is stamped, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2:14" from CTMH, the Merry Christmas stamp on the front is from Studio G.  Simple embossing using my Big Kick and the Cuttlebug wreath folder, a snowflake punch I borrowed from my Aunt Barbara, an open scallop border punch from ek success, and red and white stickles round out my cute little cards!

I'm entering my cards into the CHRISTMAS theme challenge sponsored by Scrapping Everyday Miracles.

Thanks for looking and have a very blessed Merry Christmas!
