Happy 6th Birthday

Hello my scrappy friends!

My daughter's 16th birthday is next week, so it's got me thinking about her younger years.  This LO is from her 6th birthday...such a different stage in life to say the least!!  Zhu-Zhu pets were all the rage back then and we had soooooo many, its was a bit ridiculous.  Both of my kids has their own...girl and boy little hamsters rolling around tracks for hours for years!  Money well spent!  These pictures were the start....

This LO was inspired by Scrap Our Stash "Feelings" challenge.  I chose Happy from the chart that was posted for us and used it as part of my title!

Hello Card

Hello my scrappy friends!!  I've been making cards recently for several family members and some friends.  This card is for one of my sisters, last week I posted a card for my other sister who is a nurse, https://jenscreativeside.blogspot.com/2020/04/bird-card-thank-you.html.

This card has been received and she loved it!  it's perfect since she drinks tea often, loving trying new teas whenever she can.

I used STAMPlorations stamps  for the tea cups, sketchy coffee cups, and sentiment frames and flowers.   They have a never-ending challenge...as long as you use any of their products, you can enter.  Every 50 submissions, a winner is chosen for a $10 gift certificate!

I used the sketch from Sketch-N-Scrap for this card, #168.  I loved the layers and the simple decorations.   And.....Sketch-N-Scrap is turning 8 years old this weekend!!  Of course they are hosting their annual birthday bash starting on Saturday, May 2nd.  Check out their website and FB page for more information!!

Thanks for taking a look and commenting!  Continue to stay safe and create!

Bird card - Thank You

Hello my scrappy friends!  It's Tuesday, April 21, 2020.  Just wanted to make certain we all know what day it is!  I, for one, have been lost track of the days from time to time.  I think we are all sharing in this phenomenon.  Just try not to drink or eat too much!

My sister is a nurse and although she isn't working directly with the corona virus patients, she does tend to their needs.  She is having her moments of sadness that I've seen during texts and house party visits.  I made this card for her to try to bring a smile to her face.

I used My Mind's Eye pattered paper from my stash for this card.  I love the happy colors.  The stamps are SU! Free as a Bird.

This card is made from the sketch on Sketch-N-Scrap #168 blog post.  This challenge will be open until April 30th.

I'm also entering my card into CardzTV anything goes challenge #112.  This challenge will be open until April 23rd, noon EST.

Festive Friday #FF0057 is the last challenge I'll be entering with this card.  From the list provided on their website, I used red, blue and green colors.  The sentiment inside is a thank you as an appreciation.

Walking on Sunshine

Hello my scrappy friends!  I pray that all of you and your family and friends are staying safe!!

My LO today was inspired by Sketches In Thyme sketch #414.

I used, pretty successfully, some inked embossing or molding paste!  I love how it turned out!  Apparently it's not as hard as I convinced myself it was going to out!!  I see so many ladies using their stencils, making such beautiful LOs and cards, I thought why can't I do this too!  Well, now I can!

I stuck pretty much to the sketch, less layers, added things. but I'm sure you can see how it was inspired.

Thanks for checking in and commenting!   Enjoy whatever day this is becauseI've lost track!!

Nerd Alert

Hello my scrappy friends!  I hope everyone is surviving the best they can during this pandemic.  Our township schools are closed until further notice.  Not too encouraging that's for sure.  I'm so very glad though that my kids, high schoolers, can get their work done and still "learn" a bit.  Exams will prove to be interesting this year!

Besides painting room, cleaning and cooking, I'm scrapping a bit.  Here is a LO I just completed, Nuvo drops are still wet, for Scrap Our Stash Sketch Challenge.  The challenge is to use plaid patterned paper and wood on your LO.  My plaid is the tag in the lower right corner and the wood are the mushrooms.  I inked them trying to replicate the colors of my kids shirts.

I had lots of fun pulling papers, inks and embellishments!  I really like the ink in the background using my new distressed oxides!

Just a side note....I don't wear glasses, obliviously my kids do.  My husband had lasik surgery so he doesn't wear them any longer.   We are a very joking, make fun of each other family, so of course I can jab everyone for having to wear glasses since I don't.  This picture was taken a few years ago.  I still don't wear glasses (yea!!), my husband needs readers and my kids wear contacts most of the time.  But I still make fun of everyone for having bad eyesight.  I should stop though since my sight isn't as good as it used to be....I can't wait for the jokes they will throw at me!!

This challenge runs for a few more days so you have time to join!

Explore Your World

Hello again my scrappy friends!

Here is a LO I created for Lasting Memories #487 - mix and match pps and Sketches In Thyme #412 for their sketch.  I moved the first picture up a bit to fit all three.  I like it this way...makes the entire waterfall stand out.  It's so beautiful!

These pictures are of me and my kids while vacationing in the Poconos in 2013.  I used CTMH papers and stamps from my stash.

Have a lovely day!
