6th birthday cupcake

Hello my scrappy friends!  Quick post today...off to visit family for a week!

My niece is turning 6 at the end of August so I made her a card sooner rather then later.  I know August will be filled with my son's 13 birthday, school clothes shopping, school supplies shopping, last minute movies, play dates, bowling, golfing activities.

I used a challenge from Turtle Soup Birthday Bash Crop #22 Cupcake.  I used Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge for the cupcake and loose papers from my stash for the banner, flower and embossing background.  I used stickles on the round bits on the cupcake top and the flame on the number 6.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Childhood living

Hello my scrappy friends!  Today was the last day of VBS where both of my kids and I were crew leaders!  First year for my daughter, second year for my son and third year for me!  It was a great week, only one day was unbearably hot and humid, just a few photos were taken, but we had lots of fun and laughs...always good memories!

Before VBS started or perhaps the first day, I was able to scrap a page or two.  Here is one that I just love of my kids playing in the yard last year.  I used a STAMPlorations stencil called Tribal Weave, spray inks, flowers and fiber from my stash, the REMEMBER THIS stamps from CTMH (true to life stamp set), Stone Script cricut cartridge for the title and Martha Stewart punches, geometric frames and garden trellis.

I'm entering this LO into the following challenges: STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday + July Mixed Media Challenge; Lasting Memories Layout Challenges #250 Use 3 different pps; Love To Scrap! Challenge #58-Anything Goes; HIMCR #208 Lots of Layers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy

Hello my scrappy friends!  The kids, my son's friend and I and are off for some mini golf today...as the phone rings for my daughter.  Perhaps we'll have another golfer!

I made a quick card this morning, that should have been made last week, but the summer days are just passing us by!  A friend of my parents lost her mom, always a sad time in one's life.  Her dying words were wishes of wanting to see her girls...her two great granddaughters.  How sweet...

I CASE'd a card from STAMPlorations blog Inspiration Project Post #27.   I used the Blossom Overture stamps from STAMPlorations for the flowers and sentiment. Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet distressed ink was used for the background, the flowers stamped on top, and the vines are colored in slightly using colored pencils.  I tried something new with spray inks...I sprayed ink on a scrap piece of paper a few times then took my card, hoping I wouldn't mess it up in any way, and pressed it onto the ink.  I love the way it came out!

  I CASE'd Shirley's  sympathy card.

Enjoy your summer days!

PS - we do indeed have another golfer!

Last Day of School!!!

Hello my scrappy friends!  Tomorrow is finally the last day of school for my children!  A half day no less!  I wish the board of education for our town would have taken away another day during our spring break, we had some snow days we had to make up that week anyway, so we wouldn't have to go back on a Monday!  Just yuck!

But, another school year is over so YAY for that!  Here is one of the cards I've made for a teacher. My kids get to choose what they want for their teachers.  Still need to make some more teacher and bus driver cards this afternoon.

I'm entering this card into three online challenges.

Cut It Up Stars and Stripes challenge.   My stars are from a stencil and my stripes on from the patterned paper.

Bitten by the Bug2 National Lobster Day.  The crab is cut from Life is a Beach Cricut cart and each line of the sentiment is from different stamp sets.

Thanks for looking and Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there today!!

Let's go to the Rodeo!

Hello my scrappy friends!

Close to our home is the oldest weekly rodeo in the country!  We've been there a few times and it's such an enjoyable night out for the family.  I recently scrapped a few pictures I took on our first trip there in 2011.  My kids looked so young and small!

I'm entering this layout into...

Frosted Designs Splatter challenge.  I used blue and orange spray inks for splatters, blue ink for the circle stamps on the bottom of the page and blue/green ink for the circles on the right side of the LO.

Lasting Memories challenge #236 Travel Destination. They also provided the sketch as a twist...but I loved this twist since I loved the sketch!  I tried using a new template for the dangling circles.  Obviously the look isn't the same and I really don't like the way it turned out, but I tried something new.  I'll keep trying!

Hope you are enjoying the weekend!
Thanks for stopping by~

HAPPY EASTER!

Hello my scrappy friends and Happy Easter to you and your family!  We are going to my sisters for dinner, dessert and games on Sunday.  At I don't have to cook and clean :)  My grandma is 96 years old and doesn't come out for holidays any longer.  The days are just too long and tiring for her so I made her a card.  Of course, she won't get it until after Easter.  I've lost track of what day it is considering we've had off since Wednesday!  The kids and I have been quite busy...entertaining several friends, bathing suit and summer clothes shopping, food shopping, assembling a brand new patio set, entertaining more friends for my daughter with a sleep over that started at 7pm Thursday night and just ended....it's 5pm Friday night and my son's friend was here from 6am till 4pm!  I cleaned up as they played and ate!

My card for grandma.  I love the way it came out.  I was inspired by a two challenge blogs....

STAMPlorations' new challenge...CASEplorations.  Here is the card we are to lift or CASE this month...

Off the Rails Scrapbooking is a blog that is very new to me!  It's a wonderful challenge blog with such talented women on the DT.  This months challenge gives us two different mood boards to use in our creations.  I chose the second board using the colors white, black and green.

A quick birthday card

Hello my scrappy friends!  It's Friday night and I'm ready to veg out on the couch.  It's been a tough week and a half with my kids and husband being sick then I was sick...missed 4 days of school.  Went back today and that lunch room was LOUD!  But it was nice to have a few kids welcome me back and ask how I was feeling...impressive for first and second graders.

So, my quick birthday card for my brother-in-law.  I took on the card sketch challenge at STAMPlorations #29.  Here is my card using CTMH Dotty for You paper that I've had for well over one year and I just opened it!  Great papers, I'm sure to use some again this weekend when I'm creating something!  I also used spray inks from my collection and The Crafter's Workshop Circle Explosion 12x12 stencil.  It's VERY hard to see the circles since I sprayed ink over them but I assure you they are there!

Here is the sketch I used...

Thanks for stopping by and for your lovely comments.  Have a wonderful weekend!
