6th birthday cupcake

Hello my scrappy friends!  Quick post today...off to visit family for a week!

My niece is turning 6 at the end of August so I made her a card sooner rather then later.  I know August will be filled with my son's 13 birthday, school clothes shopping, school supplies shopping, last minute movies, play dates, bowling, golfing activities.

I used a challenge from Turtle Soup Birthday Bash Crop #22 Cupcake.  I used Cricut Sweet Treats cartridge for the cupcake and loose papers from my stash for the banner, flower and embossing background.  I used stickles on the round bits on the cupcake top and the flame on the number 6.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Childhood living

Hello my scrappy friends!  Today was the last day of VBS where both of my kids and I were crew leaders!  First year for my daughter, second year for my son and third year for me!  It was a great week, only one day was unbearably hot and humid, just a few photos were taken, but we had lots of fun and laughs...always good memories!

Before VBS started or perhaps the first day, I was able to scrap a page or two.  Here is one that I just love of my kids playing in the yard last year.  I used a STAMPlorations stencil called Tribal Weave, spray inks, flowers and fiber from my stash, the REMEMBER THIS stamps from CTMH (true to life stamp set), Stone Script cricut cartridge for the title and Martha Stewart punches, geometric frames and garden trellis.

I'm entering this LO into the following challenges: STAMPlorations Stencil Sunday + July Mixed Media Challenge; Lasting Memories Layout Challenges #250 Use 3 different pps; Love To Scrap! Challenge #58-Anything Goes; HIMCR #208 Lots of Layers.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sympathy

Hello my scrappy friends!  The kids, my son's friend and I and are off for some mini golf today...as the phone rings for my daughter.  Perhaps we'll have another golfer!

I made a quick card this morning, that should have been made last week, but the summer days are just passing us by!  A friend of my parents lost her mom, always a sad time in one's life.  Her dying words were wishes of wanting to see her girls...her two great granddaughters.  How sweet...

I CASE'd a card from STAMPlorations blog Inspiration Project Post #27.   I used the Blossom Overture stamps from STAMPlorations for the flowers and sentiment. Tim Holtz Victorian Velvet distressed ink was used for the background, the flowers stamped on top, and the vines are colored in slightly using colored pencils.  I tried something new with spray inks...I sprayed ink on a scrap piece of paper a few times then took my card, hoping I wouldn't mess it up in any way, and pressed it onto the ink.  I love the way it came out!

  I CASE'd Shirley's  sympathy card.

Thanks for stopping by and leaving comments!
Enjoy your summer days!

PS - we do indeed have another golfer!
