Last minute challenges!

Good afternoon my scrappy friends!  Lazy weekend here, which is perfectly fine with me!  Both of our kids are home now...our son was on a week long boy scout camping trip (no phones allowed) and our daughter was with my sister then my aunt.  Last week was quite quiet...I enjoyed it but I did miss them tremendously!

Everyday is an Adventure

I've entered a few challenges in the past week or so for cards and layouts.  First up is a card sketch #28 from Sketch~N~Scrap blog.  I made this for my daughter while she was on her mini-vacation.  I used CTMH stamps and scrap paper from K&Company.

My next project is a layout I created featuring my daughter from 2011.  We had just gotten new carpeting and she was thrilled to rock on her horse with no furniture in the room!  I used papers from  DCWV for the title and Heidi Grace for all of the other papers.  I've entered this into the Back Porch Memories June challenge from Alissa's Patterned Paper Challenge.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

STAMPlorations cards

Good afternoon my scrappy friends!  A quick post since I'm just taking a little break from helping my kids pack for their trips next week.  Here are two cards made for a birthday and a teacher end of the year card.  Bother are being entered into the STAMPlorations blog challenges for this month of June.

This first card was made for one of my son's friends birthday earlier this month.  This is being submitted for Stamps & Borders challenge.

This second card is being submitted for the Bi-Weekly Sketch Challenge, #14.  The card was  given to the gifted and talented reading teacher for both of my kids!  I used stamps from CTMH.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave comments!  I love reading them!
Happy Weekend!

School's OUT for Summer!!!

Hello my scrappy friends!  Happy household over here since today was finally the last day of school!  This is the first year my kids didn't cry!  Guess they are getting older...which makes me want to cry!

During the past few days, two days really, I made a slew of cards for the teachers.  My daughter made a card for the bus driver since I didn't have anything left in me last night to create any more...besides I don't like her!  She yelled so often at the kids, almost every day!  I'm a yeller, but not everyday!

Here are some of my cards!  Keep in mind, my kids drew sketches of the cards, along with colors, they wanted me to make!

This first card is for one of my daughter two teachers.  I used scraps from my stash for the tan strips, the worm and apple.  The face on the apple is from Peachy Keen.  Even though this card was made just last night, I completely forget which Cricut cartridges I used for the apple and worm!
This card will be entered into the Red Carpet Studios challenge #72 using ribbon.  It will also be entered into the StuckOnUSketeches challenge, Any Animal.  My animal is of course the worm!

This next card is for my daughter's other teacher.  The patterned paper is from Authentique, the Carefree collection.  The stamps are from CTMH, a stamp of the month from a little while ago, A Chocolate Affair.  Since my daughter and I went Girl Scout camping at Hershey Park earlier this month, we bought this teacher a Hershey mug with some kisses , so this stamp set was just perfect!
This card is being submitted into the Turtle Soup Forum, Friday Inspiration.  A card was posted that I used as a scraplift for my card since I loved the original so much!

My lifted card:

This third card was made for a teacher in my son's class who takes some kids out who need extra help with their studies.  Even though my son doesn't need her help, he wanted to give her a card since she was in the classroom so often and she encouraged him with his own studies often.
I used a challenge once again from Turtle Soup Forum, Thursday Scraplift.  I used CTMH stamps, Just for You (B1398) with Tim Holtz distressed stamps.

The original:
Black, White and a Shot of Red
And this is my card:

Another card I made was for my son's homeroom and one of his classroom teachers.  She was one of the best teachers he has ever had.  She made learning fun so he learned so much!
This card is being submitted for Sketches4All June Stash Challenge.  It's a bingo themed challenge this month where I used the middle column, flowers-alphas-handjournaling (which is inside and I forgot to photograph!).  I used the Cricut Groovy Times cartridge, first time I ever used it and I LOVE it!

That's all for now my friends!  I have other cards but now I have a house full of kids...welcome to summer vacation! LOL

Thanks for stopping by,
Jennifer

Freshly Made Sketches card

Well hello and good morning my scrappy friends!  I haven't post in more then one month...but I haven't really been creating much during that month either!  Lots going on as I'm sure the same is true with you.  This is the last week of school, YAY!!!, so I'm hoping to get scrapping very soon!

In the mean time, here is a card I made for a co-worker who is leaving the luxurious world of cafeteria lunch aides!  While we do really like our jobs, by the end of the school year, it's really time to leave...kids just aren't listening to anything at this point!  Pretty similar to my kids at home...not listening!  We are all looking forward to summer break...perhaps someday we'll get a pool so we can really enjoy the heat!

Using the current card sketch from Freshly Made Sketches, here is the card I made using paper strips in my stash pile and some of the very few rolls of washi tape I own.  The stamp is from Close to my Heart.

Thanks for visiting and have a fantastic day!
